NFL 2015/2016 Season

Starting this thread today as it's the 1st day of the 2015 NFL Draft today. Sky sports 3 today is dedicated to the NFL draft before their coverage of the 1st day starts at midnight on sky sports 1 and sky sports 3

Anyone catch any of the first pre-season games? As a college fan I found it interesting to see how the draft picks are starting out at life in the NFL

In the draft it looked like the cowboys showed the same criteria as the raiders traditionally do for selection
1 is he big?check
2 is he strong? Check
3 is he fast? Check
4 is he athletic? Check
5 Can he play the game? I don't know let's have a punt on him.
It's not worked for the raiders so god knows why the cowboys think it's a good way to go.

I shudder every time I remember Amari Cooper ended up with the Raiders....a literal black hole of talent lol

The raiders have done a lot of strange things haven't they?
They once drafted a kicker and a punter in the first round. The Pinter ended up being one of the best of all time and they won a super bowl with him so maybe there is genius in the madness. However they not had a decent draft pick for about 10 years. Maybe should realise what the scouting workouts don't tell you rather than what they do. They don't measure competitive instincts or take into consideration, the fact that some people are early developers.

Jerry Rice went low in the draft because he was timed at 4.7 in the 40 yd dash. He just about skinned everyone he went up against in the games he played. No coincidence that the only 2 teams interested in drafting him in the first round was Dallas and the 49ers. The than two best teams in the NFL.

As an Alabama fan I wish Cooper had been picked by someone else, he is a great natural talent at WR and I just think he won't get much of a chance to shine with Oakland. They're so desperate for a WR he's gone in as 1st string right side WR. I'll have to retire my Coop Bama jersey for this season and get a new one, lol

Lost count the amount of times the raiders had a so called college superstar recruited and it all goes tits up. Jamarcus Russell and McFadden are just 2 out of many examples. At college level if you are playing in a dominant team you can look better than you are. You could End up being well relieved that Atalanta did not get him.

It's still uncertain if Tom Brady will be playing in the Pariots 1st four matches.
He was given a suspension by the NFL, but Brady has contested the decision.

But his representatives and the NFL can't compromise, so the Brady's lawyers have gone to court to get a stay of the suspension.

Brady's lawyers want the Deflategate incident dealt with by a neutral arbitrator.
However the NFL & Brady may be able to come to a deal where Brady would only be suspended for not helping with the investigation.
The NFL would win by getting a suspension and Brady wouldn't be proved guilty of any wrong doing with the ball tampering incident

Seahawks not traveling well in pre-season. hope they do better at home
