Former Manchester United right-back Rafael da Silva has moved to Ligue 1 team Lyon for £2.5 million after eight-year at Old Trafford.

Stoke have made yet another signing. For a fee of £12 million they have got Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan.

So it appears. Echoes of two years ago where we were not prepared to pay the asking price for a top defender and striker. Apparently we have bid for southamptons Mane instead. LVG decided Pedro was not right for United...or translate that as our money men were not prepared to pay £21 million for him. We certainly need a striker badly as Rooney is not a lone frontman.
