RE: Dr Who
A mixed bag to start the new series, and that is ultimately disappointing because you want the first episode to be gripping - to really draw you in and set you up for the series. What you don't want is episode one containing too many patchy elements making it frustrating and then you're having to work harder to get interested for the rest of the series.

I was impressed with the unexpected reveal in the opening scene, and there were some nice throwbacks to previous eras. But too many patchy scenes in between, with some of them way too childish for me. It was average overall, but for Doctor Who for me, that isn't good enough. It needed to be excellent to get the new run off with a bang.

I understand that some people may not have watched it yet which is why I'm not giving too much away here and people can make their own minds up. But for me, an average start is a disappointingly poor one.

that moment and the ending reminded me of an episode in heavy metal hurlant season 1 (sifi serieswith Kelly brook in a pvc catsuit in ep6 season 1)

the issue I have is that the writers are trying to be too clever for their own good. out of the new dr who eps the best one was blink which introduced the weeping angels. I would to see dr who have 2 or 3 part stories like in the original but a plot line running through them all with the final episode setting up the next series.

RE: Dr Who
I felt like you Regenerated was hoping the new series would start everything off with something dramatic as well, but felt that some scenes probably the level of expectation of excitement all the way through and when you think about it with the Daleks exterminating both Missy & Clara that it is possible at some point they will use that as the excuse to regenerate the Doctor into a female body.
Yes there were nice reveals but felt overall the start wasn't the exciting opener that I was expecting, and with Davros dying, surely that would probably mean Davros will not feature in any future
Dr Who series?
I also felt the guitar thing failed with me and felt that just didn't really lend itself to anything.

I assumed that was dubbed but it turns out he really was playing it, perhaps that was written in specially for him to show off his skills, rather than needing to be part of the story :

Couldn't agree more.

I enjoyed blink but it always baffles me why this is always hailed as the best/one of the best episodes.
The Doctor's barely in it and is peripheral at best, and the majority of the story involves one-off characters doing precisely the kind of sub rom-com / sitcom one liners, jokey set-ups and general post-modern ironical arched eyebrow genre micky-taking and bantering all the way through that I personally think is not Dr Who at all.
On this occasion, and I am not sure why, this is less cringeworthy than normal. Some of it is very clever, and some of it is even amusing.
But it is still NOT Dr Who imo.
The Weeping Angels are a great Dr Who idea, but this is not really a Dr Who story.

(Oh and the climax resolution doesn't work for me - since when and why on earth would the TARDIS be able to dematerialise and LEAVE THE PEOPLE INSIDE IT BEHIND ? That makes zero sense.
Why hasn't the Doctor done that before every time the bloody thing has been invaded by Cybermen or Sontarans or whatever.)

Haven't been able to bring myself to watch the new series.
The last episode I enjoyed was the one with the 2 dimensional monsters coming out of the walls, but other than that the last series did very little for me.

I suspect Davro's dying to be a ruse. It was good to see so many different Daleks including the Special Weapons although someone needs to explain to me how the Tardis got there!

Snake man was well done and reminded me of the Kinda episodes which scarred the crap out of me at the time - I'd like to see a new Kinda episode with good CGI.

Still not happy with the Doctor being some sort of Superhero the joy of the original series and early reboot was that he was the guy unnoticed who just happened to me in the right place at the right time etc

Missy seemed to be plonked into a Dr/Dalek/Davros episode for no good reason than to set something up later in the series.

https://primewire.unblocked.la/watch-273...nline-free

the show is called metal hurlant chronicles. most of season 1 is proper irony.

there should be a central theme for each season which ep either focuses on that theme or has it in the background for example there is a Canadian cop drama called motive and in season 3 the had season long plot of them trying to prove that a rich had someone killed off, some episodes concentrated on the murder of the week but the plot was either mentioned or some information gets introduced and some episodes focused on the main plot

RE: Dr Who
watched 2nd part of last week's opener and thought that it wasn't any better from last week's opener, felt overall I felt the opening has probably been the worst opener to a new series for some time..
the interaction between Davros and the Doctor could have been better witten than was shown, and felt the end wasn't was I was expecting, but next week's seems more likely perhaps where might see some improvement
but I suspect we may not see the Daleks again for quite some time...

You might as well expect Lori to take an extended hiatus as to believe the Daleks won't be back any time soon...

I thought this week's WAS an improvement on last week. Julian Bleach as Davros was the best thing in it by a long way.
