RE: Last film you watched
^ Donlevy made a second one as well, I think it was just called "Quatermass II" about a sinister factory that seems to be a bridgehead for invading aliens. Sid James of Carry On films fame makes an incongruous non-comedy appearance as a journalist.

Andrew Keir took over Professoring duties for the colour film "Quatermass and the Pit" where an alien spacecraft is found buried under an old London Underground Station - melds sci-fi with ghost story type plot, explaining supernatural events in terms of the result of dormant alien powers genetically engineered into humanity's primitive ancestors, reawakened by the discovery of the craft.
Still the best of the three imo despite some inevitably dated creature special effects.
And an interesting plot that Jon Pertwee era Dr Who ripped off elements for "The Daemons".
(Dr Who had already had a go at stealing bits of Quatermass II in the set up of the first episodes of Troughton's "The Invasion").

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

the critics may have given it mixed reviews but I...LOVED IT!!!! It was fantastic from start right through to the very emotional ending that had me welling up. The special effects are fantastic & the action sequences are brilliant. The plot isn't confusing at all despite what the critics say. There are quite a few cameos & easter eggs setting up several up coming DC Expanded Universe films including The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg & of course Justice League along with who the big bad of the DCEU will be.

As for the cast, Ben Affleck is a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill is very good as Clark Kent/Superman, much better than he was in Man Of Steel. Gal Gadot is excellent as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, stunning, mysterious and yet is a badass when she needs to be. The rest of the cast play their role very well in telling the story

DC have got their movie universe off to a fantastic start

9.5/10

Superman 3, coming off back of Superman 1 and 2 and depending on which cut of the film you watch of both films number 3 is a disappoint it was too comedic and had way too much slap stick comedy in it which ruined the film and it had a weak villain. Aside from that it was still enjoyable Chris Reeve was great as Clark Kent/Superman and as evil Superman, Annette O'Toole was great as Lana Lang she of course would go on to play Martha Kent in Smallville, Margot Kidder was barely in it because of personal real life issues. The film did have great action pieces especially with Clark vs Superman and the blu ray version is best way to see it as they've cleaned up the transfer fixed up the colour especially on Superman's suit and even removed the strings which you could see on DVD version Superman when he was flying and taking off or landing plus the sound quality is 5.1 Dolby digital before it was 2.0 funny enough even as bad as Superman 4 with its special effects it's been cleaned up the same way on blu ray. Am gonna rate slightly higher then it deserves simply because of evil Superman and Chris Reeve was fanastic 7/10.

Three more recent ones

Sisters(1973) an earlier Brian De Palma film, as a journalist tries to convince the police a murder has occurred in the apartment opposite. As usual, De Palma shows his Hitchcock love this time a nod to Rear Window. There's good use of split screen showing two scenes at once, and just when you think you've worked it out, it throws a curveball in the last half an hour. 7/10

Deepwater(2005) a drifter comes to a new town and gets involved with shady women, double dealing etc. Yes, we've been here before, but Red Rock West and Wrong Turn did it better. Much of the acting is average the only well known name being Peter Coyote. There is a decent if far fetched twist towards the end, but still nothing special 4.5/10

Scotland PA (2001) a comic drama take on Macbeth set in Pennsylvania, it grows on you with the drama working better than the comedy with a nice turn from Christopher Walken as a policeman called McDuff! 6.5/10

The Condemned(2007)

A WWE produced rip off version of The Running Man starring former pro wrestler Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones.Director Scott Wiper had little to work with in terms of budget and story and actually handles the clichéd violence with style.Vinnie Jones is terrible but leading man Steve Austin carries himself with dignity and manages the dialogue with confidence and believability.

6/10
