Thanks, Curly. I am happy to acknowledge here that I placed the blame on the boss, mainly because there were so many tease shows for such a long time with no reaction from authorities that I really doubted there was a risk of being shut down. There was more to this raid that just content, but it is part of a trend under the junta to really crack down on behaviour that is considered lewd by the very conservative Thai moral standards (and there is a law against nudity on the books). During the recent New Year celebrations, Thais were warned that women baring their breasts would be arrested, and there were apparently lots of police and army on the streets to enforce this. The lengths to which this could be taken were demonstrated when a European man was arrested for being topless during the New Year festivities - and just to put a touch of the absurd on top of it, he was posed with the cops in all his supposedly offensive half-nudity! As restrictions tighten, I'm not sure if or when we will see Asian Connections return, in whatever form. We can hope.

I feel the same way you do about the Thai girls and the channel. I haven't been watching as long as you, but once I started I pretty much stopped watching the other channels, because like you I think the Thai women are stunning and the show had a much sweeter (i.e., less "filthy") vibe about it. Though I don't remember the girls from the early years that well (watched only rarely), I have really adored Amy, Ali, and Cherry the most. I would also mention Ice, Sara, Lisa, and Nancy. Too bad we didn't get a chance to know Jasmine and Daisy better. But really, I liked almost all of them, and I wish each one of them happiness and prosperity.

Sorry my friend, I stopped believing the words that came out of the mouth of a model years ago. Whilst there might be a semblance of truth, they often tell you what you want to hear.

How does one define 'legal' ?

Since the service is intended for the UK and exists under an Ofcom licence it is 'legal'

If its visible activities are contrary to local law it may be argued that it is not legal but as long as there is no exposure, for want of a better word, within local broadcasting legislation then the former rule should still apply.

However, and this is where it gets scary, if its purpose is, for example, to launder money - convert illegal money to legal money - then its activites, in most countries, would be deemed illegal.

And, before anyone shouts me down, I am simply using that an an example without any knowledge one way or another.

I just find it odd that one day it is 'announced' that the service has ended with little prospect of its return(in its current form). yet two days later here it is. Complete with that self same 'announcer'.

My guess is the authorities were "compensated " again for their troubles, like they were the last time the studios were raided and shut for a time, and when they were compensated Asian connections were allowed to start broadcasting again .

Stan, you really should call the girls a bit more and get to understand Thai culture (LOL). They are wired in a very different way to us. The word 'Bribe' suggests we were doing something wrong (or illegal), we weren't! In the west a man's status is generally judged by his wealth. In Thailand a man's status is traditionally judged by his generosity (although this is gradually changing due to Western influences). Once the authorities had realised their misunderstanding we showed our generosity and they were compensated for their trouble.

Things are very different in Thailand. It surprises most people when I tell them we have monks bless the studio 'so that we have good business', and most of the girls attend temple regularly and make offerings to ensure our success.

I don't expect westerners (or Farangs as the Thai's like to call us) to understand real Thai culture (as opposed to the misconceived sex tourist viewpoint). It took me many visits to get my head around it. Two hours after the raid we were sitting out in the garden with the police and a guitar, group singing Hotel California. - I still don't get my head around that one!

Call me sceptical but things have happened far too quickly for that.

One day the get a visit from 'a man in uniform'. For all we know he was just checking his bitcoin stack . Yet broadcasting continued.

Followed by nothing for two days. It was IIRC several weeks last time.

Then a sudden reappearance today. But was it really live ? I just ask that since before 'break' the girls were showing a card with the date just to prove they really were there. When I looked in today, there was no such card. Also the lower graphic did not change. It continued to show Amy who, yes, was there for her second shift of the day. But what of the girl with her who's name escapes me right now. No indication of her pin.

More odd happenings today.

There was a 4am show from Kitty. Looked a wee bit familiar. Just after 9 the logo went up and now Bs are transmitting.

I have thus to conclude that neither yesterday or today were not as live as they appeared.
