You seem to notice only what you want to notice. There are hundreds, if not thousands of posts and threads on this site, I actually agree with, or have no opnion about, the vast majority of posts/threads. You're a mod, check out my posts.

When I do make posts, it tends to be when I see post after post of something i don't think is quite fair or right. If I didn't like Chris Evans, I would see no point in putting a post saying how bad he is again, but i will think, hang on, the bloke is actually good at what he does, even if you don't like him. I personally don't like Sean Penn, but I wounld't say how rubbish he is and it's the reason a particular film is terrible, there could be many other factors involved, as well as his acting.

Personally, I can't see why that is a problem, to me, it seems a problem with those can't seem to accept a different viewpoint - or at least from me any way.

As far as I am aware, I don't see eye to eye with some opnions on the doctor who, Europe and now this thread (again, check out my posts). It's not like i'm some massive trouble causer trying to start arguments on every post there is (even if there are poeple on here who try and make it seem that way); it's just an opinion and not all opnions agree.

fair enough, i'm wrong. no pattern here.

Chuck Norris has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). the virus is now in quarantine for 14 days.

RE: Top Gear
The viewing figures for the first episode were very strong in the end, reaching 6.4 million plus another 1.8 million for the iPlayer.

It will be interesting to see where the second episode ends up.

Merely look through my posts, the vast majority of threads I do not comment on, and i mean the vast majority So no, there is no pattern.

Are you seriously saying that the only ones welcome on here are those saying evans is shit and should be removed from TG?

I never said evans was perfect, if you care to read my post properly, he needs to calm it down, but I don't thick he's as crap as people are saying.

Give me one good reason what the hell is wrong with that?

It's people like you sniding at my opnion that causes the problem, not my opnions

RE: Top Gear
Personally I post on here not because Evans is bad in this but because I want Top Gear to be good (again) and want to find out and express what I think is not working on it.

I think it can progress with him at the helm. He just needs to let the programme take centre stage.

I have also said that much of what is written about Evans in the papers is rubbish.

Some on here insist on making everything about the individual. It is not always the case.

RE: Top Gear
I really don't see what the problem people have is. The show is pretty similar to what it was, and this week was an improvement on last week.

As I said, I don't particularly like Evans, but he IS a presenter, so those calling for Matt LeBlanc, or this week Jenson Button, to take over as the main host regularly, would surely be made to eat their words if they got their way.

Top Gear will be going up against Euro 2016 from next Sunday. I'm surprised the BBC have put the new series on at this time.

RE: Top Gear
Bear with me on this one... Wink

I'm genuinely loath to keep having a go at the ginger one but he can't help himself in the press for me...

I wonder if Evans gets a kick out of being at the centre of this storm in some perverse way?! Or is it just that egoists like him really just don't know when to keep quiet?! Either way he continues to feed the monster... http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entert...71976.html

His stress really is beginning to show in interviews like this one IMO. The implication of his sub-headline quote here being both patronising and nonsensical - some feat in just a few words! Huh (It also goes to the heart of what is quite often argued over on this board in many ways and the below is perhaps crosses over beyond the usual 'Evans rant'. Tongue )

So, if I may, a little info Mr.Evans: A section of the public wish to be part of this debate; you are doing yourself no favours by attempting to mock it.

Part of being a fan, of anything, is about deconstruction; the analysis of the parts that make the whole..

And Evans' profession is one of the most documented there is. The things that go to produce bad programmes are in black and white in thousands of books and articles readily available to all. These are often well researched factually balanced tomes that anatomise TV production to it's roots. In other words his type of work is generally knowable - even for the layman. There may be art and creativity involved (if we are lucky) but there is no mystery around its basic construction.

As with debates about the making of the babeshows, we are not talking rocket science or heart surgery here are we? This is all plain nuts and bolts and human personalities... As such very few things are new under the sun; if its happened once it'll happen again for the same/similar reasons.

Open speculation may be dubious but common sense judgements in these things are perfectly valid in my view.

For Evans to claim that the media (and by extension the rest of us) have no knowledge and therefore validity on this subject is arrant nonsense.

If anyone has opinion on what they are seeing on TG, they de facto have opinion on its production... If I say my watch sucks, there is a reason for that based in its manufacturer. But according to Evans and others who would argue the same we are only allowed to comment that it keeps bad time not on who made it!

(I do wonder if Evans knows ALL the intricases that go into the manufacture of the cars that he is currently reviewing on TG?! bladewave )

Not that the exact circumstance behind the scenes matter in any case; it is, of course, by denigrating the media's opinions on the show's production Evans hopes to deny the validity of their opinions of what's onscreen. He is mistaken if he thinks this will wash.

It remains by what's onscreen that he will be rightly judged - by anyone that cares to watch - no matter what they do for a living.
