Yes the leverage excuse doesn't work because Schweinsteiger's hand was higher than his head. The test that referees apply these days, of whether the player's arm was in an "unnatural position", seems to be satisfied in this case. Good spot by the referee.

I hope France beat Portugal.

It's a big shame that Ronaldo has had to go off injured. It's going to be hard for Portugal to beat France without him, but let's see, maybe they can still make a good game of it.
