I think the reasoning was that they didn't want to face the leg spinner on a last day wicket. I don't necessarily agree with it.

Pakistan need 565 to win in (rain permitting) 185 overs. The highest score in the 4th innings of a 5 day test is 451 (by New Zealand).

Pakistan all out 234 so England win by 330 runs.

The third Test at Edgbaston starts today. Pakistan have won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Half way through the day and England are 158/5. Pakistan's decision is looking good at the moment.

It was a good performance by Pakistan's bowlers to restrict England to 297, but nevertheless the Pakistan batting looked very fragile in the last test and despite England's modest total I think they could still end up with a first innings lead.

Pakistan 400 all out have a 1st innings lead of 103.
