It could have been worse for England, when you consider that Pakistan were 257/2. The last 5 Pakistan wickets fell for 42.

England close the 3rd day on 120/0 with Hales on 50 and Cook on 64. Quite a day and England now lead by 17 with 10 wickets remaining.

I think Cook got that declaration about right. 84 overs remain in the match, so any result possible. On the subject of overs, it's a pity over rates are so abysmal these days and so many overs are being lost because of it. 9 overs were lost on the 3rd day here.

Pakistan are 69/1 at lunch on the final day. England have 62 overs left to bowl and still need 9 wickets. Pakistan have batted calmly so far and need 274 runs.

After spending the first 3 days playing catch up this was an excellent win by England, the bowling attack looks decent but we really need some of the other batsmen to start making bigger contributions.

Every credit to man of the match Moeen Ali.
He has this habit of getting important runs and wickets at crunch moments. A very fine recovery win from England.

Yep, it's such a strange position Moeen finds himself in having played his whole career as a batsman and then finding himself in international cricket predominantly as a bowler. He's not a top class international spinner but the fact is England simply don't have one of those and until they do Moeen's all-round contribution is easily the best option available to them. He's going to be a key figure in India during the winter with bat and ball
