Hello Elgar,
The jury is out, I have referred it to my friend and he has passed it on, one thing is enlarging the image we can see part of Liberty London Building and also City Tote.
Now looking at the map the guys think it may be Carnaby street as there was a City Tote at number 34.
I have looked at the image and am not convinced
Both the map and image are attached , is this any help to you with the location?

Excellent work Kev. I see now that the building in the background is surely the Liberty. I don't think the location was Carnaby Street though. In fact I'm confused by the Liberty building, as I wasn't expecting Naked City to be anywhere near there. As this is something of a mystery, I tried to find another picture of the club and eventually I managed to find one that's bigger and better than the last one, although it's still not definitive by any means. Please check this link out.

Hello Elgar,
On this we are all now confused, the consensus has moved from Carnaby Street but not in any one direction
Before Monday I shall be in the area and will try and find the location using the Liberty London Building a a point of reference.
With luck we will get there

Hello Elgar

I think the attached image is the other side of the road facing away from the Liberty, does this help, you can still see the betting sign

That picture says 1969 and the Youtube video that Kev referenced before said the 70s, so we have some kind of timeline at least.

Hello Kev. I recognise that picture as being St. Anne's Court (from the Dean Street end). So either the building seen in the background there isn't the Liberty, or if the building in the earlier picture definitely is the Liberty then St. Anne's Court can't be the correct location.

St. Anne's Court is actually a very plausible location, as there were several strip clubs there in the 60s. However, the building we looked at before does appear to be the Liberty building, unless possibly there was another building with much the same kind of exterior design.

They outlasted most sex establishments in the area by a long time and I think both deserve to be classed as Soho institutions.

The Moulin cinema was in Great Windmill Street from 1910, becoming a soft porn cinema in 1961 until it closed suddenly in 1990.

Hi Elgar
I was in the area this morning, bright this afternoon but overcast and wet so not a lot of light, went round various areas in Soho looking for likely locations’ but nothing. I have spoken to my friend who has referred it on and the reason we are having trouble is what was thought to be Liberty London is in fact not the building.
Look at image 1 it looks the part but it is taken from Little Marlbourgh Street looking to Carnaby Street the guys say looks the most likely but no one can recall Little Marlbourgh Street with strip clubs.
Turning to St Anne’s Court we have a problem, it could well be and some of the guys thing so but the building is missing, see images below
Now the comment that was made is the building may not be as it was, in the 1980s a lot of buildings were re-roofed and also some were demolished and rebuilt and this looks to be the case
Please let us have your opinion on this, any other trips I will be happy to go
