But then I began to enjoy seeing Joanne's off show antics, as well as checking out some of her YT clips, which made me really like her, so began to watch Ore more closely. While before tonight's show I was still convinced the title would go to Danny or Louise if he messed up.... With how well Ore & Joanne danced this evening it would've been a total travesty for them not to have won at the end of it. I think he also came the furthest distance; that frikkin 'journey' word they use; in terms of how bad he was at the beginning to how he ended up looking every bit the professional next to Joanne.
Therefore; in my often contested opinion, the correct person/couple won.
Even though I don't agree with the method in which you arrived at your chosen winning couple (Ore "all the way through" looking "smug, self-satisfied and putting on a false act of modesty" - which is all complete folly in my opinion, I actually thought he was the most humble of any contestant from any series and the tears and emotion I felt were genuine), I do agree that the best couple on the night won the title.
I do have to say that I thought Danny was benefiting from judges bias - particularly from Darcey and Craig who over scored not just in the final, but also in previous later rounds of the series.
Louise's Showdance for me was better than the Argentine Tango, but she did look very wooden during the
Flashdance routine. That was a dodgy start that she ultimately failed to recover from.
Ore is a deserved winner, all three final dances for me were ahead of the other two couples. He and Joanne put more in to their routines. Made up for Joanne too - always loved her - I was really excited to see her back in the line-up and a nice bit of friendly sibling rivalry on show when she defeated elder brother Kevin in the final.
A really well performed group routine and a nice tribute to exiting judge Len towards the end too. A really enjoyable final overall with for me, and nothing to do with any suspected other issues, the correct result. Already looking forward to series 15 next year. The show remains a highlight of weekend television and long may it continue.
