US Election & Presidency

Interesting factoid I saw doing the rounds yesterday :

Since 9/11, not a single national from any of the seven 'banned' countries has been involved in a terrorist attack in the US.
Meanwhile, 15 of those involved in 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia, which is not on the 'banned' list.

The petition now has nearly 1 million signatures, but Downing St have stated that will not be accepting it.

ONLY ONE WORD FOR THAT - C**s!!
They say they listen to the people but when you get a strength & depth of feeling that is currently amongst a lot of people over this issue I find it staggering they choose to ignore it

its not up to downing st its parliment that dictates whats discussed

^ Before the referedum vote none of 'em had a good word to say about Trump. If we had voted differently in June his visit would have been 'postponed' now. But political needs must. They can't be seen not to be anything but best buds with the US atm.

There probably needs to be some further clarification, as this is what the US Embassy in London has said today:

"If you are a national, or dual national, of one of these countries, please do not schedule a visa appointment or pay any visa fees at this time. If you already have an appointment scheduled, please DO NOT ATTEND your appointment as we will not be able to proceed with your visa interview."

It also means 66 million haven't signed it.

May be they are taking a much more practicle solution in allowing the state visit on account he is head of the largest economy in the world, trade with which is pretty important following Brexit.

It's all well and good millionaire do gooders like Lily Alen being moraly out raged by all these things (even if the out rage is genuine) but you've also got to be practicle.

how many more millions would have to sign it before they would sit up and take notice?
If he should visit it should not be as a state visit or the Queen should simply refuse to meet him
