Again, why should he want a fresh start with the media when he knows they're lying scum (and yes, perhaps it takes one to know one)?
Because he's not campaigning any more, that jobs done.
If he's half as smart as he says he is, he would realise it will be easier to get the next job of being President done, if the media were less against him.
But what could he do to do that? It's a mutual hatred! If he stops trying to appear to hate them, they'll still hate him just as much.

Not give them so much ammunition by making the lies so blindingly obvious.

Certainly not with the words 'word' 'fair', 'media', 'Trump' in the same sentence.

The press was incredibly hostile before he was president and that just went stratospheric when he actually won. I remember people on here, and elsewhere slating him (this was at the time I'd only just about heard of him) and couldn't help noticing he was the only person on TV talking any sense day after the Brexit vote.

He never had anything like a fair chance. How many days into his presidency was those silly woman's marches? A day?

Compair with Obama, from day one, and for no other reason that I can see that he was the first black president, the world and his wife were fawning all over him and act like his leaving will blot out the sun from the sky for years to come. When asked what actually did he do what was so spectacular, nobody seems to give an answer. He maintained the Mexican wall, had the same 7 muslim countries on the black list, increase troops to the middle east and not a thing was said about it. In addition, virtually half the voting public of America seem to think his legacy wasn't so great; but let me guess thats just racism right? or some other ism or card people want to woft about when not getting their own way.

The biggest problem with Trump from what I can see is his proclivity to subborness. Even if there was a genuine reason for the ban from those countries, or extending the Mexican wall is a logical conclusion to what other presidents started, he needs to adjust to the fact the law, practicalities and public out cry should indicate you can't do all you promised to do during an election compaign, and you have to adjust your policies accordingly with out being dragged kicking and screaming and getting into juvinile tweet wars.

If he acts in accordance to the constitution and law he would not receive the negativity. He and people in his administration have been acting wrongly it is to easy to say that the media simply have an agenda against him

RE: US Election & Presidency
It's been mentioned above about Obama.

Whilst I don't think Obama was a perfect President, his list of accomplishments is pretty good. His arrival in office coincided with a massive financial crisis which his administration was integral to resolving. Since then, his administration oversaw a fairly rapid economic recovery whereby today the US has virtually 'full employment' and solid economic growth. That's not to say Obama was responsible personally for that, but he can take some credit. He also managed to get a comprehensive health care reform package through (which probably won't survive Trumps time in office but that's not Obama's fault). The Obama Presidency was also pretty much scandal free which judged alongside Trump, Bush Jr and Bill Clinton's standards is a remarkable achievement in itself.

I don't think Trump was elected simply as a negative judgement on Obama, it's more more deep rooted than that.
