RE: What TV show did you last watch?
I wasn't sure where to put this, and it doesn't warrant a new thread, so...
I didn't see "Life on Mars" when broadcast originally, but noticed that it is being repeated on Drama - Great, I thought, a chance to see what all the fuss is about; however, given that it was a BBC show, was it a one hour drama (less a minute or two of BBC ads)? If so, that means that as it only has an hour on Drama, they must be cutting a fair chunk to fit the time slot on a commercial channel, meaning that it's not worth bothering with?

It was a one hour drama. This happens all the time, you only have to look at New Tricks for example. This coming Friday, Life on Mars is sandwiched between two episodes, the first one being one hour, the second one, one hour and twenty minutes.
Generally any show lasting one hour and twenty is complete, from what I have seen.
I have watched all the first run episodes of Death in Paradise, and it looks to me as though cuts are made at the beginning before the titles start, and I am pretty sure the same happens before the end credits. One scene, where they had to make use of what they had around them to take fingerprints, was chopped completely.
As Financial Domination continues to grow, less enthusiasm is required when putting on a show.
