Magnetic(2015) Allix Mortis plays a woman who follows clues in New York to the end of the world. Nicely shot, with a sublime mostly electronic soundtrack, indeed the film sometimes reminded me of an extended music video. The storyline, however,is mostly unintelligible, with inspiration from Alice In Wonderland and Egyptian mythology. 4.5/10

The Six Men(1951)

Harold Warrender stars in Michael Law's crime drama about a gang of thieves whose successful and long run of coups has left the police baffled and panicked. Some clunky dialogue here and there doesn't stop this from being enjoyable, with goof support from Olga Edwards.

Transylvania 6-5000(1985)

An impressive cast including Jeff Goldblum,Ed Begley,Jr and Geena Davis who all do there best Joe DeRita impressions can't save this painfully unfunny comedy from Rudy De Luca.Geena Davis looks great as a sexy vampire but if you want a smar vampire horror that also has some laughs, stick with Fright Night which was made the same year.Or seek out the Merrie Meoldies Bugs Bunny cartoon of the same title, which is fae more entertaining than this.

The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes (1970) An case for Holmes(Robert Stephens) and Watson(Colin Blakely) involving a missing husband soon takes on grave importance. A beautifully, sometimes humorously scripted film with Stephens a very good Holmes backed up by Blakely as a sometimes bumbling, sometimes intelligent Watson. Genevieve Page is a spirited, versatile leading lady and there's a good role for Christopher Lee as Mycroft Holmes. There's some decent twists in the storyline and some of Holmes' observations to savour. Also starring Irene Handl(Mrs Hudson) , Stanley Holloway, Catherine Lacey and Robert Cawdron. 8.5/10

Thor: The Dark World

I enjoyed the movie but I didn't love it. I liked how the film looked with being more darker and gritty in tone, the cast was great with Loki stealing the show.
What I didn't like about the film were I thought the villain was bland and weak and very forgettable, with Loki at the end he could have done what he did in the first film and it felt like anti climatic with explanation as what happened of course we'll answers in third film but it would have been nice to be given something and it doesn't have the magic of the first film. All the stuff Loki was a bit predictable, still enjoyable but at same time disappointing.

7/10.

Assassin's Creed - 7.5/10.

I like the games, the concept is fantastic. I was worried I wouldn't like the film due to reviews, as always, fuck critics, it was very enjoyable. Sure it could have been better, but if you enjoy the games you'll probably like this. Worth a look.

The Outlaw Josey Wales(1976) Clint Eastwood directed and starred in this as Wales,a farmer whose family are murdered by Union soldiers. He joins the Confederate bushwackers, and then when the Civil War is over he is pursued by a Union captain(Bill McKinney). What makes this film is the acting,as well as Eastwood,Chief Dan George is excellent, and there's a sensitive portrayal from Sondra Locke, the sometimes witty script and the dirty, realistic feel to Western life at the time. Also starring John Vernon,Paula Trueman,Sam Bottoms,Geraldine Keams and Will Sampson. 7.5/10

Das Boot(1981)

Wolfgang Peterson's classic is set aboard the real German U-96 U Boat during the second world war and retains all of its claustrophobia, paranoia and overwhelming sense of dread all these years later after its release. There's been different versions made available and all are worth watching.Narrated from the point of view of a naïve war correspondent,it focuses on the physical and psychological toll the conflict took on the crew working in these terrifying conditions.Despite showing the deadly acts and even atrocities committed against the allies,it never vilifies the German crew.It manages to make the viewer sympathise with them as they come to terms with loss of life on both sides.Wonderful performances all round and a stand out turn from Juergen Phrochnow.

Gainsbourg(2010) The story of Serge Gainsbourg, French singer, writer, artist, lyricist, pianist and actor, amongst others. Starting as a precocious boy(a fine performance from Kacey Mottet Klein)in World War Two, and touching mostly on his singing, piano playing and artwork, but mainly his succession of relationships. Quite entertaining despite its rather frustratingly unpredictable and episodic storyline, including sequences where Gainsbourg (Eric Elmosnino) converses with his ego(Doug Jones). In a way this messy presentation matches Gainsbourg's erratic life. The acting is good, especially Elmosnino and Lucy Gordon as Jane Birkin. Also starring Laetitia Casta(Brigitte Bardot),Razvan Vasilescu,Dinara Drukarova,Deborah Grall and Mylene Jampanoi. 6.5/10
