Live By Night - 6/10.

Not a bad film, but not great. Some of it was a bit long winded, and there was nowhere near enough violence for a gangster film.
I also wasn't too keen on the ending, it felt a bit meh to be honest. It was just too long.
Wouldn't buy it (I did unfortunately), but worth a look when it comes on Sky...if there's nothing else on.

Phantasm : Ravager(2016)

Director David Hartman takes over from Don Cascareli with the latest and hopefully final installment of the cult franchise made using homemade footage mixed with new material.Reggie(Reggie Bannister)finds himself torn between a reality where he's suffering with dementia and another in which The Tall Man's forces have taken over the entire world.Hartman puts in some great moments but overall it sticks to close to Cascareli's original formula and the story becomes clunky and uneven for periods which ultimately spoil it.

6.5/10

The Panic in Needle Park (1971)

Al Pacino plays a New York drug addict who ends up pimping out his girlfriend (played by Kitty Winn).

Worth watching just for Kitty's titties alone. They are pert, perfect and pointy. Think Paige Tyler or pre op Lori Buckby.

Knock Knock (2015)

Keanu Reeves' character is terrorised in his own home by two sexy young women. The only consolation for him is that he gets to fuck them both first.

The consolation for us is that one of them is Ana de Armas who is insanely fit with beautiful tits and we get to seem them in all their glory. The other bird is nice too and we also get to see her milkers.

Alien Covenant.

Pretty good first 40 minutes (Good pacing, visuals, buildup), despite being a case of been there done that in terms of plot, but the rest of the movie wasn't very good.

Sure there were some good bits scattered throughout, but overall it was a mediocre movie.

Bad pacing during the second half, far too much slow motion and sped up motion during some of the action, shaky cam, all the aliens were CG instead of practical (CG over practical stand in costumes), Waterstone as the lead actress was only so so (Liked her during the first hour, not during the second hour), there was a pinch too much David for my liking (Loved him in Prometheus, but now it's becoming the David show), the movie wasn't scary, there was a pinch too much music instead of the quietness of the original, 2 Neomorphs and 2 Xenomorphs Rolleyes, with most of their scenes being rather average, and most of all the plot felt like the same old shtick that we've seen before. Some of the dialogue was cringeworthy, especially the "Could you help a girl up", and the Xeno being knocked out the airlock was lame.

Many others had hoped for an anti gravity sequence with the Xeno/Neo floating around, along with the survivors and how scary that could be, but nope, another knock the alien out into space same old same old.

I'm a massive fan of Ridley, especially his older movies, but he's losing his marbles with Alien.

6/10

Mildred Pierce(1945) A man lies murdered on a penthouse floor, the film tells us why.... A stylishly shot film noir with 'soapy' elements and a pretty smart script with the odd hardboiled line. There is also nice use of flashbacks. The acting is strong with Oscar winner Joan Crawford in the title role, Ann Blyth as her spoilt daughter and wise cracking roles fully grabbed by Jack Carson and Eve Arden. Also starring Zachary Scott, Butterfly McQueen,Bruce Bennett,Moroni Olsen & Jo Ann Marlowe. 7.5/10

Dolls(1987)

A Stuart Gordon fantasy horror that is very well imagined and put together.A simple premise,a group of unlikable characters are stranded in an old mansion which is occupied by some old dolls that happen to possessed by the souls of long dead criminals.Carnage ensues. Some nice practical effects and clever framing make it a silly yet enjoyable experience.Produced by Charlie Bond who basically remade it in 1989 as Puppet Master.Gordon's film is superior.

7/10

Suicide Squad 7/10 - entertaining but not as good as the Marvel movies.
