^^^^ The cost of watching ITV or Ch4 is having to sit through mindless adverts every 15mins.....as well as my Mrs series linking Love Island or The Real Housewives of fucking Shitsville lol

Nothing, they use advertising revenue to pay for their output just like the BBC should, and despite the annoying adverts, nobody forces to buy the stupid products.

In the case of Jeremy Clarkson only his presenting fee was paid out of the TV licence money - and it was a lot less than Gary Lineker gets.

Most of Clarkson's earnings from Top Gear came from the worldwide commercial exploitation of the Top Gear brand. These payments are already a matter of public record and were widely publicised at the time.

As long as these high earners are paying their tax at the correct rate (45%) not a penny less & not squirreling away off-set tax in some dodgy film making company like certain ex-pro players whilst they preach to everyone on moralities via twitter.

I see Murdoch's Sun and his lackey BBC hating MP's are now complaining about the fact that not all BBC performers earnings have been published i.e those who are paid through production companies. These will be the same production companies that the BBC were forced to use by Government to break up the monopoly of the BBC producing all their own shows. If you watch the credits at the end of BBC shows you can see the names of these companies and some of them are owned by bloody Murdoch and ITV!
