You think about guys we've been in Afghanistan how many times - three? Twice we were kicked out in the 1800's and pulled out the last time. Russia were kicked out in the 80's (thanks to us supplying the rebels fighting them with weapons) & the only military commander to have any kind of success there was Alexander the Great.
Just shows what a real hornet's nest it is there (or it can be). I bet if you invaded Afghanistan in any kind of strategy game you'd probably be fighting a never ending war.
Whether Mrs May feels it is worth another shot backing Trump up remains to be seen, but certainly I don't think Pakistan has done enough to help.

As previously explained, the Democrats do not have to control congress to determine the name of a ship. Having a Democrat as president would be enough as the president effectively makes these naming decisions.

Having said that, don't necessarily expect a future Democratic president to name a ship after Barack Obama, as he never saw military service. The names you mentioned earlier as having vessels named after them, Carter, Raegan and Bush, were presidents who had served in the military.

Carter was a submarine officer, which is why he has a submarine named after him, rather than an aircraft carrier like the other two.
