And if the Democrats can field a decent candidate who isn't Hilary Clinton...

Logic says he shouldn't win again, but I wouldn't put any money on it bladewave

You've got Russians on the brain Wink

I don't think anyone believes they succeeded in rigging the election.

The issue is that they attempted to, and who was complicit in the attempt.
Mueller won't get Trump directly anyway. If he'd known anything about it, his big mouth would have betrayed him long ago.

But, but, Hillary said they did! Rolleyes

That's nonsense, though.

"They didn't rig the election, they just tried to... and it's a coincidence they succeeded!"

Seriously?

I agree with that, though Cool

Doddle is very obsessed with Russians, but what The Silent Majority says is correct. The issue is that they attempted to interfere.

Hillary Clinton wrote a book on the election, in which she refers to Russian interference as just one of several factors that worked against her.

^ The main one still should have been herself. Any decent candidate and Tango Don would not be where he is.

Remember that the Presidential election is done by the College Electoral vote, so he does not need a majority to win in 2020 because he didn't get it in 2016 and won. Hilary Clinton won the female vote but she only got 54% of all woman voters. Trump won in nearly all white demographics

All White Voters: 58%
White Men: 63%
Non-College Educated whites: 67%
College Educated White Males: 54%
College Educated White Females: 45%
18-29 yr old Whites: 48% Trump (43% Clinton)

The idea that a majority of all these demographics, nearly half of educated females and a plurality of millennials that are supposed to be liberal can look at his campaign and say yes this is what I am going to go for is staggering. It is part of my white privilege that having grown up as a majority I do not identify as my race but when I think of these numbers and how a man endorsed by the KKK could dominate the white vote so much it shames me as a white person

Whites make up more of the voting bloc and black voter turnout was down the highest for any ethnicity group from 2012 in 2016. If white voters did not have a problem with him in 2016 when he was calling Mexicans rapists and wanting to ban muslims I don't see what problem they will have with him in 2020

If he runs, he wins

If i could find a girl that had the looks of Gal Gadot, breasts of Sophie Mudd with Demi Rose's ass, the personality of Jessica Ennis, the grace of Kendall Jenner on the red carpet and then behind closed doors the raw sexual energy of Nicole Snow i'd know i was dead and gone to heaven, so i'll just take Demi Rose's ass and Nicole's sexual energy

If some of you bothered to look a little closer you would find that Trump actually increased the share of the republican parties vote amongst the very people who are supposed to hate him, especially the hispanic, latin and ethnic voters.

And if you'd bothered to look at the analysis beyond the headline figures you'd have seen they voted on his promises on jobs and the economy, with the expectation he'd tone down on the other rhetoric and become presidential, once elected.
More than a few of them must be questioning their own judgement now.
And his handling of the economy is still very much in the balance. The current position is very much just a continuation of the trend under Obama but Trump will own it, good or bad, by the next election. His promise to bring manufacturing back to the US may well boost the economy but the ordinary man in the street won't feel it if it increases the cost of the goods (he just slapped a huge tariff on imported washing machines). And it will do very little for the high end manufacturing jobs he promised. Any new factories will be highly automated, employing hundreds where previously it would be thousands.
Yesterday he carried out his threat to put tariffs on Chinese solar panels to protect the US manufacturers. Now that might seem a good plan but, as ever, there's a bigger picture. Ok, they import cheap panels but all the installation, infrastructure and ancillary work is all good quality US jobs. Will the consumers swallow the price increases? Will the US manufacturers invest millions to increase production under an administration that's actively promoting more use of coal and oil?
Or will the $28billion solar energy industry fall on it's arse? It's Trumps gamble.
Then there's every chance this could escalate into a full-on trade war which could damage both economies. Politically speaking though, Xi is in by far the stronger position because (a) he can point at Trump and say "he started it" and (b) he's not going to be facing elections any time soon.

Incidentally, as someone who occasionally pops up to defend Trump, where do you stand on the sexual misconduct allegations? If Weinstein's not fit to run a film company, is Trump fit to run a country?
Or does he get a free pass because he's not one of the 'liberal elite'?

I would like to say other people are more obsessed than me, Americans mainly laugh
I think the interference allegation is ludicrous, especially if those who peddle it also feel that the result was not affected. It's like annulling the SuperBowl because there was a streaker on the field (possibly).

Well, if you believe a word she says... Bounce

RE: US Election & Presidency
Silent Majority, far from defending Donald Trump i am simply trying to bring a little balance to the argument, this irrational hatred of the democratically elected POTUS defies all belief. The truth is that the liberal elite cannot stand the fact that the so called perfect candidate lost the election fair and square, clinton was supposed to be the final piece of the puzzle, a female POTUS. It seems to me that no matter what trump says or does he can do no right, i fully accept that some of the things he says are not befitting of the office he holds, he is at times vulgar, crude and even offensive but that does not mean people have the right to demonise him.
