White Heat (1949)
As a psychotic thug devoted to his hard-boiled ma, James Carney - older, scarier and just as electrifying - gives his career performance as cold-blooded Cody Jarrett.

Extras:
Commentary by Film Historian Dr. Drew Casper
Leonard Maltin Hosts 'Warner Night at the Movies 1949' with Newsreel
Comedy Short 'So You Think You're Guilty'
Bugs Bunny Cartoon 'Homeless Hare'
Theatrical Trailers
Featurette White Heat: Top of the World

Comes packed with promotional art prints, which is a really nice bonus.

I Recommend The Villainess(2017)

Snapped it up for a tenner in Home Bargains.

A really enjoyable La Femme Nikita styke effort from Jung Byung-gil starring Kim Ok-bin as vengeful assassin doing the South Korean National Intelligence's dirty work in order to earn her freedom. The opening sequence boasts the best fight scene of the year.

Extras :

Audio commentary
Collectable booklet

Snapped up Batman vs Two Face(2017)for £8 from Yorkshire Trading this morning.

Honouring the camp spirit of the 1960s comics and TV show with brilliant voice work from Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar all reprising their respective roles alongside Bill Shatner as Harvey Dent.A ridiculous plot is put out of mind due to how much fun it all is.

Extras :

Comic con tribute to Adam West
Burt Ward Dog Welfare featurette

If you have a 4k tv then i highly recommend Guardians of the Galaxy 2, i have a few 4k films now but this has the best picture i have seen yet. The depth and richness of colour is amazing to look at and the sound crystal clear, there are no extras on the 4k version but it comes with a blu ray copy and there are plenty on there.

Plus they only charged me a fiverBig Grin

Another blu ray i recommend is Power Rangers, having not seen the film beforehand i took a chance when purchasing it and turned out to be better than i hoped for. The 4k version comes with a blu ray copy and digital download plus there are plenty of extras on both discs.

How To Steal A Million (1966) got delivered to me yesterday through Twilight Time Movies (from their Limited Edition Series) from the States, as the blu-ray isn't available anywhere else. I haven't watched it yet, but I've heard the PQ is excellent.

Extras include:
Isolated Music Track
Audio Commentary with Actor Eli Wallach and Catherine Wyler
Audrey Hepburn: The Fairest Lady
Original Theatrical Trailer

Also, features a short 8 page booklet about director William Wyler with artwork & photos featuring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O' Toole.

Got some good stuff this morning on a 3 for £30 offer at a market in York.

The Apartment(1960)

One of the funniest and best romcoms ever made by director Billy Wilder. With touching performances from Jack Lemon and Shirley MacLaine.

Extras :

Commentaries
Interviews
Featurettes
Video essay
Book

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes(1970)

Another one from director Billy Wilder, often regarded by fans as his most sumptuous but underated effort.

Extras :

Deleted scenes
Interview by Neil Sinyard
Interview with Christopher Lee
Interview with editor Ernest Walter
Essay
Collectable booklet

Carrie(1976)

Although I like the 2013 version with Chloe Grace Moretz, the original for me is a far more potent adaptation of King's novel.Under Brian De Palma's direction Sissy Spacek delivers a truly heartbreaking performance.

Extras :

Commentary
Featurettes
Alternate title sequence

A heartbreaking tale following Jim and Hilda(based on Brigg's parents)as they use the advice from official government leaflets following the outbreak of a nuclear war.Beautifully animated and directed by Jimmy Murakami with wonderful voice work from John Mills and Peggy Ashcroft all backed up with an emotive score from Roger Walters and a memorable title song by David Bowie.

Extras :

Commentary
Documentaries
