RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit ( formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
(30-01-2018 15:27 )Jack the Nipper Wrote: I voted leave knowing clearly it meant leaving the 'Single Market & the Customs Union' which was clearly stated by Cameron,Osborne & other Government ministers in debates & interviews prior to the EU vote.It was also articulated in the £9 million pro-eu publically funded literature the Government sent to every household which also stated that the Government would respect the result of the referendum whatever the result (but didn't say they wouldn't prepare for either result or Cameron resigning if he didn't get his way).
It does humour me when pro-eu politicians, newspaper columnists,tv commentators etc repeatedly trumpet the old line about people voting to leave to eu didn't vote to leave the single market as clearly remaining in it means accepting all the 4 freedoms of the eu.This would be like me saying to a remain voter that by staying in the EU means they would have to accept a single EU currency (dropping the pound),an ever closer union or accepting new EU expansion countries like Turkey,Ukraine etc it becomes meaningless, unfounded brick-bat throwing.
As for this 'so-called' leaked impact assessment projection of leaving the EU over the next 15 years by 'pro-eu' civil servants I wouldn't expect anything less from people who can't make predictions for the next 15 months let alone 15 years.
Scratch beneath the surface of it though & it's for projections for current existing models & makes no allowances for any potential trade deals.
Both EU & UK economies would suffer on a no/bad deal which is why I'm quietly confident a compromise deal will eventually be reached in a 'Canada' type deal.
Just for the record I'm not Jacob Rhys-Mogg in disguise.
Unfortunately Jack many others voted on the basis of not being informed like yourself and voted either out of emotion, ignorance or even worse prejudice. This whole exercise goes to show important decisions like this should not be done on a yes or no referendum but on full blown elections with fully costed and explained manifestos.
We also did not allow for the total incompetence of the May government. The job is too big for Davis i would say this should be a cross party effort but Labour are worse and the silence of Corbyn in this process has been deafening.
For the record I voted remain am very pro European much of my business is done in Europe so this decision is a potential disaster for me. However I have come to the conclusion whats done is done and if we have to rip off the band aid lets do it. WTO most favoured nation rules will not be a disaster people will ultimately be able to travel and work albeit on a visa basis but the EU will have this advanced economy competing with them aggressively on their doorstep.
If I was conducting these negotiations I would be very clear about what I want from the outset to avoid the games and let them know we are geared for the worse case scenario, time to stick it on them.

He's a sex offender though. That would have something to do with it. Plus, much like Lewis Hamilton, he seems like a rather unpleasant person. Arrogance on stage is fine - you do NEED that to be successful - but off-stage he comes across like a nasty cunt, TBH. Fake and bitter. I can't see him ever being knighted. He probably WILL be re-MBE'd though.

Sticking with the potato theme Sir Martin Donnelly, former head of Liam Fox's International Trade department, said in relation to giving up Single Market and Customs Union "Brexit is like giving up a three course meal.. for the promise of a packet of crisps in the future"
Liam Fox then said in a speech that "The Brexit process is, as we've all discovered, a little more complex than a packet of Walkers." I bet his team were all high fiving each other when they thought of it, bet they thought it was a right zinger
If i could find a girl that had the looks of Gal Gadot, breasts of Sophie Mudd with Demi Rose's ass, the personality of Jessica Ennis, the grace of Kendall Jenner on the red carpet and then behind closed doors the raw sexual energy of Nicole Snow i'd know i was dead and gone to heaven, so i'll just take Demi Rose's ass and Nicole's sexual energy
