^ This is as much a part of Democracy as the referendum was. If the Tories want Brexit for the people that voted for it they should make a better fist of it and stop creating opportunities for the opposition parties.

SF's best bet is to sit tight and watch the DUP squirm with their $1bn hush money supporting a government enacting a policy that they totally oppose.

Theresa did her big speech in the delusion of "bringing people together" without caring that 48% of people are being persistently ignored.

But she did talk of wanting the EU to meet the UK halfway. Which I'm sure the EU would be keen on... as the previous UK position was not to meet them even a quarter of the way

Not to mention the whole "a hard Brexit is a hard border" between NI and Ireland...

What is just staggering is that she knows all of this is bullshit, she came out for Remain but she instead is pandering to a portion of an electorate that makes up little over a third of the country. This is the age of cowardice politicians are to scared of the electorate to tell the truth they all know Brexit will be an absolute shitshow. A lot of the leaver know it but the don't care because they will be financially sound.

The narrative that we have using phrases like will of the people have created a misconception around how our democracy functions. People believe that we elect politicians to directly represent our views & do what we say but that is not how our Parliamentarian system works. We do not tell our MPs what they stand for, they tell us by standing on their parties manifestos and asking us to vote for them to represent us by making decisions based on their judgement and expertise. They sit on committee's, they get briefed on all aspects of the political spectrum etc so that they have the intel to make these decisions on our behalf

It does not matter how smart the constituents are they cant be well versed in everything, I don't want Quantum Physicists dictating policy on constitutional law nor do I want constitutional lawyers dictating policy on the NHS. This is the whole point of an MP and they are not doing their job because the public or at least large vocal sections of it think that our system operates differently and many of them care more about their jobs than the welfare of the country. So were are in this quagmire where MPs are to afraid to do their job because many in the public don't know what that job is
