RE: Last film you watched
Ready Player One

I saw this last Tuesday and I really enjoyed this movie biggest reasons are that am a Steven Spielberg fan and all the nostalgia that was through out the movie. Now I know it’s based on book which I never read all tho I do know somethings have been changed.
The film is set in the 2045 the world has collapsed and people are in poverty people escape this reality by going into the OASIS a virtual reality world created by James Halliday played Mark Rylance, his left three keys who every finds them all gets a Easter egg which allowed them to be super rich and of course run the OASIS. This falls to Wade Watts played by Tye Sheridan to find the keys along with his friends and become the hero of the story.
The villain of the film is played by actor Ben Mendelsohn his so good at playing menacing villains just look at his roles in The Dark Knight Rises and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For me I would say the film is kinda like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory meets Tron along with The Matrix. The biggest take away from the film is the nostalgia so many Easter Eggs, film, music, tv shows, cartoons, video game Easter Eggs and references for me it was a flood of memories and it so easy to miss a lot of them because there’s so many and there brief i’ve heard there’s a over a 185+ Easter Eggs so it’s either watching the movie more then once or freeze framing it when it’s out blu ray. The biggest references by far was Back To The Future not just visually but with music throughout the film which helps as Alan Silvestri did the score for this movie along with the Back To The Future score. The visual effects were great these days I think too much CGI is used but it works in this film telling apart reality compared to the virtual reality world which is like being a video game so you would expect it to be CGI heavy and not look realistic which is why I think it works. For me this film was fun, magical and I had great time from start to finish and it’s long run time it goes by so quickly that your never bored. The pacing through out the film was done perfectly, there is a part of the film was a bit creepy and nasty in horror kinda of way but when you see the scene you see by they did it and worked perfectly also it’s very funny in places and watch out the DC Comics references.
Some people might not get out the same nostalgia as me depending on when you were born and might not get some of it, but as I said for me that’s why I love the film so much it was like a trip down memory lane.

9.4/10.

Silkwood(1983)

A Mike Nichols film based on the tragic and mysterious demise of nuclear facility employee Karen Silkwood played brilliantly by Meryl Streep, who found herself on a personal mission to expose the dangers of nuclear power through her involvement with union organiser Ron Silver. With strong support from Kurt Russell and Cher.

A contract killer uncovers a conspiracy while trying to save a kidnapped teen from a life of prostitution.
Disturbingly brilliant (4 me) loved it.

John Krasinski's “A Quiet Place” is a nerve-shredder. It's a movie designed to make you an active participant in a game of tension, not just a passive observer in an unfolding horror.
An easy recommend...the tension in this movie is palpable

Road House(1948)

Not the Patrick Swayze fight fest but more of an absorbing tale of jealousy, deception and murder directed in style by Jean Negulesco with spot on performances from Ida Lupino,Cornel Wilde,Richard Widmark and Celeste Holm.

Death Wish(2018)

I wish they hadn't bothered. An utterly pointless waste of time and resources.

A Walk Among The Tombstones

A crime thriller starring Liam Neeson as ex NYPD investigator turned private investigator and hired to solve the case of women how are being kidnapped and murdered. Good film but I found with what happens with one villains and he escapes and what he did a bit too convenient.

7.5/10.

Coal Miner's Daughter(1980)

Michael Apted's biopic sees Sissy Spacek shine as Loretta Lynn.A girl from the Appalachians who was married at 13,a mother of three at 18 and a star of the Grand Ol' Oprey by her late 20s whilst battling drug addiction along the way.Spacek really proved just how versatile she was in this by performing all the songs herself coming credibly close to capturing Lynn's trademark glottal tones. With great work from Tommy Lee Jones as vulnerable yet pushy husband Doolittle and Beverly D'Angelo as Patsy Cline.
