He's 'unapproving' it now, from a distance, because he didn't have the balls to do it in the room with the other leaders.

I doubt any of them will be surprised, though.

^ Possibly, but I actually think he'll try in Singapore, or appear to try, because you just know he wants that Nobel peace prize that was touted earlier in the year.
In reality, we all know he couldn't care less about the negotiations (he's already said that he's not bothered preparing, as it's about attitude), everything he does is for show, and it's about how it makes him look, so if he can come out of it looking good even if nothing is achieved, he and his deluded base will see it as a win.
