RIP Barry Chuckle

It has been announced that Barry Chuckle one half of the Chuckle Brothers has died aged 73

Ah FFS another one gone this year

I remember them from years ago when they used to appear as two giant dogs(costumes) and Paul used to belt Barry about in a slapstick way. The best thing they did was ditch the outfits and then become the equivalent of Laurel and Hardy, with their style of comedy appealing to all including reaching cult status with students(as if they had better things to do than watch Chucklevision like revise!) They were also stalwarts of the pantomime and big favourites with children and adults. I also remember when the late presenter Tony Gubba did a piece to camera and Barry came up behind him and shoved a custard pie in his face. Sad loss to show business and irreplaceable as a partner to his brother Paul.

To be fair, he looked about 73 for 30 years. But an iconic part of childrens telly, and another channel 5 show presenter to kick the bucket this year.

RIP One less chuckle in the world tonight.

Picturing his brother carrying his coffin at the funeral ... to me, to you ... oh dear

One of an ever decreasing number of old-style 'entertainers', who could really work an audience ... of any age. Sadly replaced nowadays by a stream of once-upon-a-time stand-ups, who generally regurgitate old scripted material, and play more to amuse their peers on the show/panel than the paying audience.

It was a tragic irony that Barry Chuckle's death was announced on the day his new show launched.

RIP Barry, thanks for one last laugh.
