RE: worst ever England football eleven
As a Palace fan (hence the username) I have to come to Geoff Thomas' defence, as clearly no-one else will.
Everyone remembers him for that miss against France in 1992, which even I have to admit was a shocker. But Geoff never played in a losing England team (he won nine caps, most of which were in friendlies). The main problem at the time was that the best England midfielder of that generation (Gazza) was out with his busted knee, so anyone coming into the team was always going to be compared unfavourably to him. Geoff played the kind of role that Gareth Barry does in the present day team, to great effect for Palace in the early 90s.
He also recovered from leukaemia a few years back and rode the Tour de France route to raise money for leukaemia research. So he's an all-time hero at Selhurst Park, and doesn't deserve to be in any worst XI.
On the subject of the actual team, can I nominate David Batty as the right-back? Graham Taylor played him there in Euro 92 against Sweden, a game in which we lost 2-1 and were knocked out of the tournament.
Terry Fenwick has to be in there as well.
Favourite babes remaining: Hannah Martin, Abbey B, Clare Richards, Paige Green, Becky Roberts, Abbee Kimberly, Electra

With a couple of exceptions, 'Alexxxi''s a strong challenger, with a truly horrible selection.
Can't agree with David Nugent (a popular pick). He was about the 9th choice striker at the time, just a bizarre set of circumstances got him into the squad. He was in form and in his only 20 minutes of international football, scored. Doesn't matter how, or who it was against. On a pro-rata basis, his stats are brilliant + he performed very well. Would I let him near the team bus at the moment? Would I boll*cks.
Steve Bull scored against Scotland at Hampden. This alone should exonerate him from any such list.
Chris Powell - that was a hilarious choice from the stupid Swede. There was someone from Nottingham Forest got into one squad a few years back. I'd never heard of him & not too surprisingly can't remember his name now either. Centre-half if memory serves.

According to official stats no Steve Froggat ever played for England.
