RE: NBA Basketball
Yeah 7 games a week in a 'multi year' deal. I'll be trying to get back in to it once the TV schedule gets underway. Just hope they don't cut back on the college football to fit it in lol

RE: NBA Basketball
i am seriously considering cancelling my sky and switch to Just BT. I don't really watch college football much so I would not be to bother if they did replace that with an NBA game.

RE: NBA Basketball
I'm lucky enough to "borrow" my granddads BT Sport login so I can watch it on my laptop lol. I don't think the two will clash too much, the NBA schedule is a lot like the MLB and they manage to live side by side on ESPN normally. Plus we're getting to the end of the college season now with just the Bowl season approaching :-D

Interesting decision by BT. History shows that any channel that takes on NBA basketball gets low viewing figures, which is why Sky weren't showing it.

I got it from Sky and ESPN who both reported low viewing figures for NBA, which is why they didn't bid for the rights this time.

The other sports you mention are not relevant. Surely even someone of your limited understanding can grasp that those sports cost virtually nothing to broadcast, so in those cases low ratings don't matter very much.

ESPN is a part of BT. The games BT have acquired, some of them, will be shown on ESPN as they purchased all of ESPN's UK rights and also use that channel for some of their own stuff.

That's why UFC went straight from ESPN to BT when it launched. Eventually ESPN will end up as BT 3, i guess.

Rolleyes The only thing not relevant here in this thread is you're post...

RE: NBA Basketball
Looks like Sky now have the rights, lots of NBA programmes now listed for later this week, opening game live on Sky Sports, and a new twitter account “skysportsnba” where the blurb states over 170 games inc finals.
