And I missed seeing it!!!! I was away on an activity centre holiday with the rest of the lads in my class as it was our last year in Primary School.., in a back of beyond part of North Wales called Pentrellyncymer..and the place didn’t have a television! What made it even worse was that our class teacher drove home to watch the match...the bar steward.

Day after my birthday (not sure when I saw Star Wars but can look it up as I have diaries going back some thirty years) and in 1977 I think that was when I started my lifelong support of Liverpool. One day in the 90's I was doing a course Employment Training or ET and I happened to look down on the pavement and saw a badge from that game so I thought I'm 'aving that and it went into my vast badge collection

That week in 1977 I can’t forget..,watching the FA Cup Final on the Saturday..losing to two jammy goals against Man United. Going away on the school activity holiday which had a river nearby..fell in the damn thing at least twice..miss the biggest game in Liverpool’s history at that point..had to listen to Radio 2 on a crackly radio...no bloody telly! Can you believe that?

Then get home on the Friday and get nothing but “was a brilliant game” etc etc etc..Grrr..
