1975 Stockholm : 20th Eurovision Song Contest: Teach-In wins for the Netherlands singing "Ding-a-dong".

41 years later, it's not recorded whether veteran suave actor Leslie Philips was watching Flick's daytime appearance in the BS sauna; but if he was, he may well have been tempted to repeat his famous catchphrase "Ding dong".

He'll be 95 next month apparently, though whether this thread helps or hinders is anyone's guess. He married his 3rd wife in 2013 (!), and supports Tottenham Hotspur.

25 March 31 AD is reckoned to be the First Easter, by 6th century monk & calendar maker Dionysius Exiguus, aka Dionysius the Humble (AD 470 - AD 544), who pioneered the use of the "Ano Domini" term for describing eras.

Nothing for yesterday the 24th, so an "Easter Egg" selection of caps today from the 25th March 2016.... (and yes, I know that Easter Day in 2016 was the 27th).

On This Day 27th March:

1871 The first International Rugby Union match takes place at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh (on a cricket pitch). (Scotland 1* England 0).

2016 With both Ms Levy and Ms Claydon in attendance, that particular Sunday was a day of "Easter Eggs" indeed....


(*Scotland won by one goal and a try, against England with only one try.
Scoring was different in those days, a try was not worth any points unless converted afterwards by a successful kick on goal - a "touchdown" only gave the team a "try" at at kick at goal. And a goal was only worth 1 point.
"Gentlemen" didn't cheat, so there was no concept of penalty points
It is however worth noting, that the match ended in dispute : Scotland's second try was judged to be a knock on, but deemed as not being deliberate, wasn't against the rules at that time. It wasn't converted.
It was the first try that was converted and provided the only point of the match.).
