Or another vote on The Benn Amendment as it was basically a rework of the Cooper/Boles Amendment. That is of course as they stand, procedure would allow a 3rd vote on May's deal if there were substantial changes and subsequently on a second referendum or Benn Amendment.

Both Remainers and ERG leavers have praised Bercow in the chamber for this intervention, James Cleverly a pro May's Deal leaver (I guess Leave does not mean Leave) criticised the move saying that if MPs had known it was their last chance to vote on the deal last week they May have changed their minds. At which point the world's smallest violin started to play in the House

Bercow's being given a lot of credit for his ruling (preventing a 3rd vote without some significant change), but the relevant rule seems clear enough and he's really only applying the rule as he should do.

HE may have done M at a favour as she now has to change the deal but this leaves us now accepting we have to get the extension and also having to fight the European elections. Parliament has f***d up big time and any trust the public has in entrusting MP'S to do as we asked them, has gone.

Can Just imagine what are all the conditions the EU are going to put on a meaningful extension now. not in there interest to make it easy for us to have more time unless something happens

It does make me laugh that many of the ERG members (not all) who have voted against Mays deal are now in uproar about John Bercows decision yesterday. Mmmm so they fear that they might lose Brexit if the EU insist on a long delay so they want another vote on Mays deal so they can change their mind. Meanwhile any Leave supporter who has suggested a Peoples Vote is subject to ridicule because you can't have any form of second vote.

I also see Brexit MP's keep talking about how many MP's voted for the 29th March as the leave date. Nobody in Parliament at that time thought we would be 10 days from Brexit with no deal - much like the population in the Referendum did not all understand that No Deal could be the outcome.

Every decision Bercow makes is with the aim of stopping Brexit or at the very least watering it down.

When Dame Laura Cox's report said that Bercow had presided over a culture of bullying and harrassment and should consider his position the remainer majority in the Commons ensured that he wouldn't have to stand down.

Margaret Beckett was honest enough to admit the reason why he would be protected in an interview with the BBC. When she was asked if she was condoning his behaviour she said that Brexit "trumps bad behaviour"

Is it too late to get Betty Boothroyd out of retirement? She may be a remainer but she was fair and impartial when in the chair and respected by all sides of the house.

I think one thing we can all agree on even in this thread is that Bercow is a little shit.
