Do you get the impression that he hates snooker?

Maguire looks like he's always up for a ruck with someone. I can see him smashing his cue up at some point tomorrow.

Glad that Gary Wilson kept his lead, and that Dave Gilbert did even better.

Maguire is his own worst enemy.

Wish Maguire would have a bloody shave!!!

I still have fond memories of him peering round the dividing wall when Cliff Thorburn made that 147 all those years ago.

They don't make snooker players like Bill any more what was it - 26 pints of lager a match for him? been years since we have seen a Canadian at the world championships. i remember Cliff "The Gunslinger" Thorburn's 147 break then didn't they break to the Iranian embassy at one point? I remember Clive Everton saying "Good luck mate" before he potted the final black.

Gary Wilson is the first man through to the one table set up of the semi finals after beating Ali Carter 13-9.

He will face either Trump or misery guts Maguire in the semi final.

I wonder what, at the start of the tournament, the odds of a Wilson V Wilson final were ?

Given how well Neil Robertson played in the 1st 2 rounds I feared he might steamroller John Higgins but it is turning into a really good match

There's clearly mythologising about how much he drank, and if he'd drunk 26 pints per match, he wouldn't really have had much time to play a bloody match...

Pleased for Gary Wilson because I can't abide Ali Carter. I don't expect him to beat Trump, but then again who knows?
