RE: Last film you watched
To Sleep with Anger(1990)
A melodrama from Charles Burnett about an African American family in LA that invite a friend into their home only to discover he is completely untrustworthy.Whilst riffing on faith, tradition and responsibilities it ignored the usual trademarks of black cinema at the time(gang violence and racial tensions)and was/is a landmark in expanding portrayals of the African American experience. With superb performances all round, especially Danny Glover.

Two more shorts from IGN for the 40th anniversary of Alien(1979).
Alone(2019)
A pretty interesting story revolving around a dying "artificial person" seemingly alone on a vessel. Some nice music cues to Jerry Goldsmith's original score(well, what Ridley Scott used of it)and a nice little turn from Bill Paxton's son,James.
7.5/10

Harvest(2019)
The most frenetic paced of the shorts so far,I wasn't keen on the millennial action/horror style editing but overall it was quite frightening and the ending is a heartbreaker.

RE: Last film you watched
Finally got round to seeing Avengers: Infinity War(2018) recorded Christmas Day on SKY Premiere. I have to say I was not expecting a lot of what went on. Some of it was confusing because it relied on you remembering what happened in the last film but after that the action never let up and a lot of characters didn't make to the second reel. Visually stunning to look at and a few light-hearted moments, but by the end I was still in the dark as to what was happening. The final scene was odd-Thanos lived but everyone else was disappearing into ash, and then at the end Nick Fury appears very briefly before he and Hall also are reduced to ash??!! Not sure what was going on there but presumably the last film might clear things up? Will have to wait until SKY shows it now, but I think judging by what people have said, it will be worth waiting for. Liked seeing Stan Lee as the bus driver "what you've never seen an alien spaceship before?"

RE: Last film you watched
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile 7/10. (Acting 8, Film 6).
Nothing wrong with the acting, everyone did a good job, particularly Zac and Lily, but I just felt that there wasn't enough of him being what he was revealed to be, which was a monster. I get that her perspective was the focus, and that it was about him being this charmer type that had many fooled despite the evidence, but if he had been still doing that, with the audience getting to see the evil along the way, rather than him just being in and around the locations at the time, it would have worked better and would have actually been shocking.
Worth a look if you're interested, but it's probably worth watching the documentary first, if like me, you don't know much about him.
