Music. When Paul Weller appeared on Top of the Pops in the early 80's for one performance, for whatever reason he had for wearing it, he wore an apron with OXO logo on it. Now the BBC cannot be associated with advertising or products and so they asked him to take it off or remove it. Unfortunately, being the rebel back then Weller decided he wanted to keep wearing but compromised and wore it inside out, but you could still clearly make out the OXO logo-the little tinker.

Further to my last entry some time back I feel it needs correcting about Marlon Brando being in Superman.

Marlon Brando sued the producers the Salkinds(Ilya and Alexander) and Warner Brothers for fifty million dollars, because he felt cheated out of the film’s considerable box-office profits. This is the main reason why footage of Brando does not appear in Superman II (1980) and his scenes are taken by Kal-El’s mother instead. Brando ultimately received about $14m for just 10 minutes of screentime. The footage shot for the sequel was eventually used in Superman Returns (2006)

A woman once tried to commit suicide by jumping off the Empire State Building. She jumped from the 86th floor but was blown back onto the 85th floor by a gust of wind. Standing almost 1,500 feet tall, there’s no way anyone could survive that fall. However, when Elvita Adams tried to kill herself by jumping, a strong gust of wind blew her to the floor below. In very hot weather(and boy is it hot now) the best drink to have to cool off is in fact TEA. Cold drinks will cool you down rapidly and make you sweat more whereas Tea is better at controlling your body temperature and hydrating you. Similarly a warm bath or shower is better than a cold one. A good way of keeping cool on hot nights is stick your sheets, pillowcases and/or duvet into the freezer(yes your read that right) but obviously don't leave it to freeze over, just enough to get nicely chilled and then you can sleep on nice cool bed wear. Open your windows wide and allow any hot air to dissipate out and sleep with a cold flannel in a container of ice water.

No wonder your freezer broke.

My mistake, its not TEA you should drink according to a doctor spoken to on London News, but it can't hurt anyway.
Freezer didn't break - the plug was dislodged.

Other hot weather advice:
It is said you should close curtains in rooms that face the sun. Close windows to keep the warmth out and have a fan handy but not at night because any dust particles could be redistributed around the room.

Keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm.

Wear light loose-fitting clothes.

If you want to sleep better at night in a warm room the urge to sleep naked is strong but it is better to wear loose pyjamas etc because it will absorb any sweat.

Don't drink any water at night unless you want to run to the toilet. Better to drink a lot during the day and maybe a cup of tea later in the evening.

If in an office environment take off your jacket and tie OR at least loosen it. Health and safety dictates that you should have adequate ventilation.

Avoid railway stations and the Underground unless you need to use it and take plenty of water and fluids with you.

Highest factor sun cream is a good idea but add some to your ears(top) and the backs of your hands as these are sensitive to extreme heat.

This record was attempted during The ArgenPic Chilli Pepper Festival. - In 2007 The Bhut Jolokia Pepper (Ghost Chilli) was certified by Guiness World Records, to be the hottest chilli pepper in the world, 400 times hotter than Tobasco Sauce and rated at more than 1,000,000 scoville heat units compared to The Jalapeno which measures between 3,500 and 8,000 in scoville heat units!!......Tho the world record for the worlds hottest chilli has since been broken.

The Twitter bird actually has a name – Larry. The name comes from Larry Bird, who is a famous Hall of Fame basketball player.The species of Larry the Bird still remains a secret!
