I feel like I'm late to the party with this movie considering the time it's been out now and the reviews it's had on this thread but I didn't end up going to the cinema to watch this and instead waited to get it on 4k blu-ray (perhaps a mistake not watching it on the 'big screen'), however purchasing it on zavvi has allowed me to view it before it's released in the shops on Monday due to early delivery......so to the movie, it was an Avenger's movie through and through, great entertainment and the action sequences are delivered very nicely, such is the way these Marvel movies are. I thought after the aftermath of Infinity War it was a very plausible direction to go in with the sombre effect this movie has in the first half and the 'coming together' of all the hero's. It, for me, felt slow going in the first half of the movie but it was more about the storytelling rather than the action, but it was still entertaining and I wasn't at the least bit bored in the slow going moments. It was great to see the original characters back such as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America etc and it was also good to see characters such as Captain Marvel introduced into the Avengers Universe (tho I did watch the Captain Marvel movie before I viewed this movie).
However I still felt at the end of the movie like it was more of a swan song for some of the characters, I felt some of the more major characters and the introduction of Captain Marvel were underused and definitely didn't have enough screen time. I felt Infinity War was the better movie out of the two films but this was still entertaining enough and considering the lengthy run time, I was stilled gripped throughout. Stunning special effects, action scenes great and the storytelling good but I preferred the first movie 8/10.
I've still not seen it so avoiding anything about it like the plague!
Ralph Breaks the Internet(Sky Disney) 2018. Finally got round to watching this as I had enjoyed the Wreck It Ralph prequel. Very funny, some really blatant product placement of the companies' names but I suppose you can't do something about the Net without mentioning or showing things like EBay, Snapchat, Twitter etc, but it was good. John C Reilly and Sarah Silverman reprised their roles as Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope again this time getting trapped inside the Internet and having to find a way of raising money to get a new steering wheel for her game that had been broken. There are laugh out loud moments and some poignant moments too. There is a great sequence featuring every single Disney princess when Vanellope finds her way into their special room which is hilarious but the whole film is very good and even has a song and dance number. Oh yes and watch out for a very funny version of a Rick Astley tune at the end. 9/10

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children(2016) Eva Green, former Bond girl and Samuel L Jackson have a lot of fun in this strange 'family' film. A young teen's grandpa(veteran actor Terence Stamp) in Florida is killed by some kind of unseen monster and he ends up in Wales where he tries to find an old children's home that his grandpa stayed in back in 1943-Jake, the grandson(played by former child actor Asa Butterfield from Merlin and Ender's Game) finds his way back to 1943 and finds Miss Peregrine who shows him that they are trapped in a time loop and have to reset it each night on the same day 3rd September when a night bombing run by the Germans destroys their home. Samuel L Jackson hams it up as the villain who tries to get the power from Miss Peregrine and others so he can stay in human form. The kids of the home must stop him from getting to a time loop in Blackpool and save Miss Peregrine who was captured in her bird form(she can change into a peregrine falcon-hence her name) Judi Dench and Chris O'Dowd also star in this entertaining film, but at PG there are some genuinely scary moments. Good special effects and some good set pieces using CGI. Worth a watch but probably not with young children. 9.5/10
