Maybe. But I think there's a growing realisation amongst the Tories that if they don't get a deal now, and can't find a loophole to leave on 31st without a deal, they'll get crucified by the Brexit Party in a November election.
Even if the Brexit party don't win any seats, splitting the leave vote will likely let Corbyn in by default.

Well yes that could be right, although Moggy seems to think there is a loophole around the Benn Act as he revealed last night.
So to me we have two possible scenarios.
On the one hand you are right, Boris is shitting himself and wants to be re-elected so is legitimately trying to get this deal through.
On the other hand he's simply time wasting on a deal that he knows won't get passed so he can use this so-called loophole and leave without a deal.

But I'm not sure why Moggy has decided to reveal this information now, could this be a clue? Aimed as a warning shot to help negotiations since Barnier is looking for more concessions, possibly believing the UK has strangled itself with the Benn Act? Or could it genuinely be the Ace up the sleeve that Boris has been planning to use all along? But I'm not sure why he would reveal such information now if that were the case, but you never know!

I'm surprised that anyone's actually buying what's coming out of Johnson's blow hole, considering Mogg's gobshittery. On one hand you have the claim that a deal is in sight (Johnson), on the other you have claims of using EU law to circumvent The Benn Act, to bring about no deal (Mogg). Frankly, you'd have to be a little soft up top not to see that they are trying to play both sides, thinking that they're smarter than everyone. I'm not sure which is the cunt and which is the arsehole, but we can all (mostly) agree, that something smells a little funny.

I now think they are making the claims that there is a deal in sight just to cover up for the fact that they are still going for no deal and they can't stand the sight of Barnier!! The gobshite coming from Mogg who ridicules the role of being the leader of the house gives him the divine eight to slouch on the benches is what I've always expected from him.

That's not quite how I heard it reported. Barnier said they would need concrete proposals by tonight if they were going to have time to finalise something before the summit on Thursday.

I think it just depends which article you've read.
But it did come at short notice though, which does look like he's just throwing his weight around and making up the rules as he goes along. Doesn't look good.

I do agree with Skully that Boris is playing both sides.
But then I also believe he has to because he's being attacked from both sides.
But yeah it does come across as smug, it's hard not to take JRM any other way I suppose.

As a Leave voter you would imagine I would be totally thrilled to have Boris as PM, well I'm not. Mainly because he's still a politician, and therefore, not to be trusted.
