RE: RIP Bob Willis
Shocked at this news.

Great fast bowler, quality captain, but a stern pudit.

Genuinely shocked and saddened by this. Was a legend. Genuinely quick bowler who will be best remembered for his performance at Headingley in the Ashes series of 1981 when he took 8 second innings wickets for 43.

Rest in Peace Bob SadSadSadSadSad

Never to be forgotten! Known as Botham's ashes, and yes he was on a different planet in that match at headingley in particular! Bob Willis 'man possessed' performance in cleaning the Aussies up 2nd dig will remain the stuff of Legend! Along with Beefy, Bob never forgot the pivotal (and it was) contribution from Graham Dilley (he too lost to us some time ago of course)!! Have worn out the DVD of Bothams Ashes many times over!

It is humbling, and not just a little scary, to see those I/We grew up with, and who solidified our love for cricket - leaving us now!! Was he ill does anyone know, or unexpected??

Oh no.
I am heartbroken Sad.
Pound for pound the best sports pundit around imo and now he has gone Sad.
He was 'The Verdict' on Sky Sports Cricket.
Spoke with blunt, honest, straightforward candour and common sense.
He didn't hold back either laugh.
At times hilarious, at times brutal but always frank, always sincere and always spoke from the heart. And of course he was an absolutely awesome bowler.
The Headingley 1981 match will stand out for Ian Botham but Bob produced a devastating bowling performance in that 2nd Australian innings thst will stand the test of time forever.

Cricket coverage will never be the same again.
I am lost for words.

Rest in peace Bob.
Condolences to all his family and friends.

Yup I remember watching this at 15yrs old and he even had time in some matches to clown about. He was one of the best bowlers we ever had, a real powerhouse and devastatingly accurate. Real shock to read of his death.

RE: RIP Bob Willis
Probably one of England's finest genuinely quick bowlers will always be remembered for his performances in the Ashes in '81 and should have been knighted with 'Beefy'. A genuinely sad loss to English cricket. Despite his views in punditry, there is I think, genuine respect in cricket for his achievements and is fourth on the all time list of English Test wicket takers with 325 wickets.

Family have asked for donations to be made to Prostrate Cancer UK

Condolences to all family, friends and former team mates of a legend. RIP Robert Dylan Willis

I hope someone somewhere will re-master and re - make that DVD available for download that is something that has to make it as a downloadable sporting history thing.
