Mock the Week
Another compilation, with more familiar targets included. 2020's series should require more effort.

^ I'm looking forward to watching them get out of that situation.

Upright episodes 7 & 8. Tim Minchin's fantastic show about ''two misfits, Lucky and Meg, who are thrown together by chance in the middle of the Australian desert and forge the unlikeliest of bonds in their quest to get a precious upright piano from one side of the country to the other.''
Really worth watching, it's a bit of everything, weird, funny, sad, heartwarming and heartbreaking. A triumph imo.

A Christmas Carol by Stephen 'Peaky Blinders' Knight and it starred ex Neighbours star Guy Pearce with Stephen Graham as Jacob Marley. Different in that Bob Cratchit is married to a black woman with two kids not three(Peter the oldest is absent) This is a completely different reworking of the classic tale and looks very good. Bit of swearing that you don't normally get in versions of this book, but then Peaky Blinders is hardly childrens television is it? Part two tonight on BBC1 at 9pm. Also noticeable is the kid that plays Tiny Tim suffers from a rare form of dwarfism so although he is older he is naturally short but he's a good little actor(no pun intended)

BBC1 His Dark Materials episode 8. As I suspected there are some questions still to be answered and as this is first part of a trilogy of books, so this is the end of part 1 of the trilogy of series made with Part 2 returning NEXT year. Well made, credible performances by the two young stars assisted by James McAvoy & Ruth Wilson(surely the sexiest of mad, femme fatales which she seems to excel at) and some top notch special effects-the bears are very impressive-this dark adaptation deserves big audience figures and I look forward to series 2 and what happens next to Lyra(Dafne Keen) and Lord Asriel(McAvoy).

^ Really enjoyed His Dark Materials too, very good acting from all involved, especially the younger actors, the CGI was top notch, the pacing of the storytelling was bang on and the plot was intriguing and interesting.

9/10 for the first series from me.

Larry King Now - Kristin Chenoweth
A Tony & Emmy winner, she once worked as a singing telegram and had to sing "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" to a man who'd had a vasectomy. And they say Americans don't get comedy...
