None over Christmas, that is for sure! Keep on saying it now throughout the year, but tv has never been worse than it is now! Christmas used to be 'relied upon' to - at least - bring to air unique programming for the season. Now, we have the same crap that filled our screens (a very few diamonds if you looked deep enough...ok) for the preceding eleven and a half months, with Christmas tagged on to the end!!annoyedannoyed

The programmes we have to pay for, were - not for the first time - among the very worst!!

The only show I watched was the 'unseen' sketches of the Two Ronnies! Yeah I know....right??

Worzel Gummidge.

No where near as good as the original with Jon Pertwee

My Dream Derelict Home
For people who'd rather Grand Designs was presented by Damon from Brookside than Kevin McCloud.

The Witcher season 1.

Excellent stuff, I like that it has three lead characters who each getting plenty of screen time. Having not read the books or played the games, I didn't know what to expect, so I was thinking it'd be along the lines of GoT, but having now watched the full first season, it isn't, it's more like a fantasy video game brought to life, so more like Warcraft, but just better. The violence was plentiful and bloody (not over the top imo), the nudity wasn't gratuitous or unnecessary, it served it's purpose and thankfully there aren't any overly pointless sex scenes (they often ruin shows). All three leads are fantastic in their respective roles, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, in particular. The magic isn't over done either, and the creatures are well designed. If you haven't given it a look, I highly recommend it.

Escape to the Country
Kent to Exmoor is one thing, but Middlesex to Oxfordshire seems a bit pathetic.

A Question of Sport at 50 BBC1-(in fact not until next January) which looked back to its earliest beginnings with David Vine, then David Coleman and finally Sue Barker. It also looked at the various captains over the years, such as Bill Beaumont, Ian Botham, Emlyn Hughes, Gareth Edwards, Ally McCoist, Frankie Dettori etc. and how the programme evolved from being the studio-based, desk-bound quiz show to the sporting icon it has become now with a bigger set, more elaborate effects and graphics. It came down to London a few times but the first time was when their Manchester studio had a problem and had to be recorded at BBC Television Centre. I have been privileged to being on BOTH sides of the camera, when my Dad and I were invited onto a dummy run of the programme where they used Brain of Britain and Mastermind contestants to fill in. We also got to see how the programme was made. It saw off that ITV upstart 'Sporting Triangles' in the 90's. I suppose the nearest rival might be A League of their Own on Sky One, but won't have the longevity of A Queston of Sport.

Death in Paradise
A couple of episodes from Ben Miller being the star. Not that bad, I suppose.
