Yeah, the language would seem to be it (or maybe the unnecessary skit with a chicken). Some incredible scenery, and contrasting with the "World's Most Dangerous Roads" episode in Nepal many years ago, which looked a lot wetter country.

You have to wonder what goes through the minds of producers when they try to find the most inhospitable places to drive a car in - the drop from where Paddy was driving was dangerous plus the way the other road users on that other stretch of mountain road kept cutting in scaring the shit out of them. Chris Harris at one point was genuinely concerned enough to leave a message for his kids. I am all for stunts and great scenery but surely someone has to say 'look, this place is mad enough without our lads driving three virtually clapped out relics on roads that will break them apart. It made for exciting watching but I was concerned for them-maybe that is what they wanted, but I would hope that they had enough sense to provide back up should anything really dangerous occur-look what happened the time Hammond lost control of the car he was driving-it nearly killed him. I hope the new series is just as good as the last, but their welfare is taken more into account. I did find the women in Paddy's car very funny having no idea what he was saying to them.

Have you ever watched "World's Most Dangerous Roads"? (repeated regularly on Dave if not). Every one has some road with similarly precipita… er, steep drops and danger.

I think the point is that it's shocking to us because we don't have that everyday (although we soon will after 4 more years of Tory transport policy, I thank you). Folk in Nepal, or Bolivia, or Siberia, do, whatever their vehicle.

I had hoped that James May and Richard Hammond would appear during the current series of Who Wants To be A Millionaire Celebrity as the old team would be together. Endless opportunities for bickering and jokes at each other's expense. They're not ignorant either so with a little 'qualified silence' from Clarkson surely they could raise a bit more money than so many seem to.
They weren't on Christmas day and they're not on the guest list for this weekend's shows either. Given the duration pf the programmes I couldn't deduce that there was a suitable gap left in the schedule.
Perhaps they'll make an appearance subsequently but I fear that inter-channel rivalry might remain the over-riding factor.

Was you referring to the accident he had a couple of years ago, or was you referring to the Bolivia special episode - or both?

I get the feeling that if James May did quit The Grand Tour, I doubt very much you would be able to get the three of them back together in the same room if that was to happen, they may be mates but if one was ti upset the applecart as it were I doubt the others would forgive whoever left out of them three for quite considerable time. i thought the Millionaire show was perhaps a little bit disappointing given the performance, and would agree it would take a fair bit of give and take by channels to get May & Hammond on the show unless they were with their respective partners playing.

Finally caught up with this. I thought it was average at best.
Most of the usual stuff was there but there were no really laugh-out-loud moments. Closest was probably Harris's car running back down the hill and tipping over. The distinct lack of pranks didn't help either.
The cliff side roads and the manic traffic looked genuinely scary though. So props to them for tackling those bits.

So yeah, wasn't too bad, but could've been alot better.

New series starts tonight after Dr Who (well, on BBC2).

Recording the repeat but it looks from the endless trailers for this show that there is a car bungee with Flintoff occurring. The whole show has completely changed its raison d'etre from actually about cars to what James May once described as "three blokes dicking about in cars"

As its from James May, surely "three blokes Cocking about in cars" is probably a more accurate quote
