Bristol Scout: Rebuilding History 2017 PBS America



Sub-lieutenant Bunny Bremner was a pilot in the RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) in the First World War. He saw active service flying from the greek island of Imbros in support of the Dardanelles campaign and later from the island of Thassos against the Bulgarians in the Salonika campaign. After he died in 1983 his grandsons, David and Richard bremner found in his garage the joystick, rudder bar and starting magneto from the Bristol Scout that he flew in those actions. They then spent the next fifteen years or so building a replica of this plane around the three original parts. Every part was bult from scratch from sheets of wood, metal and fabric apart from the replica engine which was sourced from New zealand. The result was the only Bristol Scout currently flying and this is the beautiful end product.
