Ofcom today announces an extension to its review of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code (“the Code”). This affects proposed revisions to the Code rules relating to:
· sexual material;
· competitions and voting;
· commercial references in television programmes; and
· commercial references in radio programming.
There is also important information on acquired children’s programmes.
This extension follows the Government’s announcement on 16 September 2009 that it wants to change its approach to product placement in UK produced television programmes, subject to a forthcoming consultation on this proposal.
For full details of the extension, click on the weblink below:

Vostock, if you read through review it explains about no change to R18 material and new 'mandatory access restrictions' on all adult material with the purpose of sexual arousal

Not that this means anything to the rights abusing twats at Ofcom. You see there's a strategic 'or' in the EU Directive regarding safety of minors. Technological methods of access restriction should only apply outside watershed scheduling - i.e. when you can pay-to-view an 18 rated movie at 4:30pm when the little darlings are just home from school.
Ofcom published some bullshit research claiming that PIN access was not sufficient to protect minors from adult material then proceeded to claim it was required everywhere and that R18 couldn't be shown at all. Their argument makes no sense, indeed, it is nonsense.

Totally agree with you. I filled out the consultation in favour of the channels which I've watched for years, but regardless of what findings their research was they seem to want to enforce whatever they want and not consider us the viewer (I thought the days Mary Whitehouse went out with the ark). Yet in the consultation any form of material thought to be used for sexual arousal looks like it will come under the pin access, so will this mean a decline in channels or stronger material!

DON'T PANIC!
This addition to Ofcom's Broadcast code wont affect the FTV Babe Shows. (for now)

(parts 4 and 6)
There will be a separate consultation for the "babe shows" soon, postponed from the initial consultation last spring.
Here is the response from the Participation Broadcasters Association, which is the trade body that represents various Babe channel owners:
