The Bat Man of Mexico 2014 BBC

It follows Robert Medellin, a Mexican zoologist who studies the Lesser Long-Nosed Bat which is one of the pollinators of the agave plant that is the basis of the tequila industry.

The bats migrate 2,000km along the west coast of Mexico to breed in a small number of caves in the Sonoran desert and Roberto loves nothing more than wading through lakes of bat guano in caves where he often has to wear a respirator because of the rancid atmosphere.

St David of Attenborough who is the narrator says that the collapse in the bat population was endangering the tequila industry and that the farmers, government and scientists all co-operated in a conservation effort so that the bat numbers have rebounded and it is no longer endangered. Slammers all round!

However, the Environmental Defence Fund site tells a completely different story by saying that the agave farmers were not dependent on the bats because they use cloned plants and harvest them before they flower and that persuading the farmers to let 5% of plants bloom is the reason the bat numbers have increased from 1,000 to 100,000.

I think I'll check Michaela Strachan's twitter feed to see if she can set the record straight on this one.

The world of advertising, from focus groups through to MTV & beyond.
pt 4 of 4
Instagram and Photoshop, Deepfakes and so on. People now take pix of the Mona Lisa to show they've seen it (although oddly you'd think they should take selfies - maybe too tricky for them).

Dennis Miller Plus One - Dana Carvey
Whether he was doing this before he started subbing for Larry King, I dunno. Dana was a great guest, full of impressions and anecdotes and laughs.

Jamie: Keep Cooking and Carry On.
Yes it's a cookery programme which has been quickly put together to show how you can adapt with the supplies that you can obtain at present.
Good basic food, and half his recipes seem to be cooked in the frying pan, inc pizzas and pies. Well done Jamie Oliver.

The Final Frontier: A Horizon Guide to the Universe 2012 BBC 60min

Seven segments of less than ten minutes look at the subject using clips from the Horizon series of science documentaries which started in 1964:

1 - The laws of gravity as revealed by Newton and Einstein.
2 - Hubble's discovery that the universe is expanding from the red shift of light from distant galaxies.
3 - The Hubble space Telescope, its repair and its discoveries.
4 - The search for life on mars, the meteorite "microfossils" and the Curiosity rover
5 - The discovery of Exoplanets detected using star wobbles with ultrasensitive spectroscopes.
6 - The Higgs Boson and its discovery using the Large Hadron Collider.
7 - Before the big bang - speculation and theories about the ultimate question.

The segments are too short to develop any real interest in the themes although if you are coming fresh to any of it you may have your curiosity piqued to find out more - there are decent books available that explore these subjects in more depth.

Brooklyn 99 Season 6 Ep 13 The Bimbo

If i could find a girl that had the looks of Gal Gadot, breasts of Sophie Mudd with Demi Rose's ass, the personality of Jessica Ennis, the grace of Kendall Jenner on the red carpet and then behind closed doors the raw sexual energy of Nicole Snow i'd know i was dead and gone to heaven, so i'll just take Demi Rose's ass and Nicole's sexual energy
