I think that ManyCams is purely software enabling S66 to manage their, er, many cams rather than a distinct service like MFC for example.

But if it was a s66 decision, then surely all the girls would be required to use the manycams software, which they aren't. it's more lightly IMHO that it is software that some of the girls like Fernanda who don't stream from home much for s66 but stream for their non s66 work use, hence not everyone using the software.

Indeed, I looked up 'ManyCam', as I wasn't sure what it was.
It's the sort of computer application, that might well be getting a lot of use, more widely, for communication at a distance.

Yes, it's just a software that allows you to stream your webcam live. Lol I wonder if you are correct in your guess that they can't stream better than 480p because they don't have the paid version. I doubt it though.

On sites like chaturbate or myfreecams, most girls seem to prefer using a different but similar program called OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It has a interface that allows you to set picture and audio quality, and shows if you have any streaming or network issues. As well as configuring external mics, etc. You can add logos, animations, or programmable graphics to the videos feed too (that stuff's distracting though).

The vid is from 3 years ago. The picture settings she describes at 1:10+ are good (much better than S66 cams), but many girls are streaming at higher quality than that now.

OBS is pretty great for screen-recording too

i would not be surprised at all if thats the issue for some of them, some of the girls who dont normally do much camming and who are just doing it until the studio is back open my well not see the point in paying for something they may not use a lot in the future, it would explain a lot

Your doubt is justified. The free version allows resolutions up to 1280x720. Using the paid version it's up to 3840x2160.

It remains a mystery and I'm grateful that those more knowledgeable than me in this regard have contributed.

OK so 480p isn't down to the software that (some) of them are using. The internet might vary in quality given the load but not by that much and the cameras used can't all be crap.
[I've seen Evelyn's for example and it's is a remote controlled one and that means new and of merchantable quality) We've been advised that they don't cost a fortune.
So what's left...it must have to do with the studio's 'telephone exchange' unfortunately.

The most commonly used cam is the Logitech C920.

Charmaine was on the radio recently and the interviewer asked what a Perve Cam was?
