RE: What TV show did you last watch?
Chasing Classic Cars on Quest. Series 8/Episode 1 made in 2015.

This may have been the series premier in the UK and I've enjoyed previous. The show follows Carini of Portland finding, buying, mending and selling mainly American classics. He presents the programme, no journalist this man, he started in his father's workshop.
In contrast to so many of the genre, to interest the casual viewer recourse is not made to irritating shenanigans but rather sequences are included where Americans of some standing desport their lifestyle's at auctions and d'Ellegance. I'd be put off but for the humility of Wayne Carini. Hobnobbing with billionaires one moment, pushing cars in a widow's dusty garage the next.
Neither is this programme so formulaic, sometimes Carini sells for a profit, sometimes he doesn't. I never get the impression that something is faked for the benefit of the producer's resume.

Most episodes cover several vehicles but this concerned only a 1921 Stutz Bearcat motor car found unmolested in a barn. Sympathetic conservation ensured the vehicle's provenance and it received a special award at the Pebble Beach Concours.
Carini was assisted in this particular episode by his Engineer Evan whose pieces to camera were sympathetic, at one point demonstrating his emergency kit I noticed that he'd taken the trouble to present himself in a collar and tie.

I would enjoy subsequent programmes, I can only wonder why such a programme doesn't enjoy a more prestigious broadcast. Exactly what would the BBC have been screening at the time?
