A devastating virus in 1996 kills most of humanity. Like that could happen.
Survivors underground send Bruce Willis (who else) back in time to gather information about the cause to try and prevent the catastrophe.

Has it always had that terrible accordion music throughout it ?
Why I have never noticed that before ? Who thought it was a good idea.
Brad Pitt overdoes the crazy-balls.
As usual with Gilliam films, looks good.
Not so usually for Gilliam films, has a reasonable plot that makes sense mostly (cos it's a sort of remake?) and doesn't seem to get bogged down in itself too much.

Appropriate viewing as people crawl out from lockdown, just before we get struck down again by the resurgence of covid amongst silly holidaymakers, beachmongers and pubgoers, and - by all accounts now - just before we get a shot of bubonic plague on top, to boot.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Absolute classic movie and very funny too. Every time I watch I feel like am watching it for the very first time. Definitely up there as one of my fav movies.

Independence Day: Resurgence

It's not very good is it ?

The 1990s original had a kind of quaint 1970s-disaster-movie feel, tropes and structure which when welded to the then-still-relatively-novel CGI spectacle applied to a basically 1950s B Movie story kinda worked, even with the ludicrous Mr President in the fighter plane finale.

This sequel just feels charmless and underpowered-it badly misses a replacement for Will Smith.

It's left to the old-stagers Bill Pullman & Jeff Goldblum, and the bloke that plays Goldblum's dad from the first one to bring any kind of star power - the Trek android nutty professor guy is as annoying as he was in the first one.
The "yoof" of the cast are fairly forgettable.

Yeah I've just watched The Old Guard too. I'd say it warrants an 8/10 also. Wasn't really expecting much to be honest but I was pleasantly surprised.
Definitely looks like there will be a sequel.

Easy going popcorn film.

ok, i'm drinking and watching a movie atm and it's the first time i've felt the need to post in this thread in the middle of said movie. it's nothing groundbreaking but i love andy samberg and really love cristin milioti so i highly recommend palm springs.

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory

One of my all time fav movies and pisses all over the remake. Not only a beautiful Gene Wilder performance in this movie not only brilliant but breath taking and who knew he could sing so well too, shows how much of a great talent he is and is sadly missed. The movie in places has a very dark tone in places all involving Gene Wilder, can’t praise this movie enough and Blu Ray transfer is fantastic.
