Not all of them, most of the ones I see around my way, the people aren't peddling at all, even on the flat areas.

The electric scooters scare me, they get a fair speed going and seem quite unstable compared to a bike and don't seem to corner well. I can see a fair number of catastrophes with both pedestrians when they are on pavements, and with cars when they are on the roads, if they become more widespread.

Put a local lockdown in place and then forget all about it just hope the Manchester one does better, but get the feeling this situation will slowly evolve into another national situation. They are just useless in keeping track of these local lockdowns, just like their trace and track app - fucking useless...

And as for thr 60K pay - out, they should pay out every NHS family who was bereaved PRONTO.....not fucking go through claims one by one, just do the payments as promised no matter what. Those guys put their lives on the line for others who suffered and paid the ultimate price and they families should be fully compensated ASAP.

Yep. I’m now thinking as are a lot of people it’s because of Eid this lockdown measure is now in place. If the government were serious about stopping households meeting up, they’d have shut pubs, restaurants, cinemas etc.

But they haven’t meaning people can still meet up at pubs & restaurants as they haven’t banned that. So households in the affected areas can’t meet up in homes but can meet up elsewhere. Renders this measure pointless

If people over 50 like me have to stay at home again like they are intimating under their 'nuclear plans' and having just gone back to work after three months of furlough this year, and they are beginning to wind down the first furlough scheme, what financial support mechanism are they going to introduce to support that possibility if the plans are introduced?
