I just love how news is considered 'banter' and jokes aren't...

That's exactly what it is. "Big 6" basically get to make all the decisions if it goes through. Some proposals have merit but won't happen as the other clubs would basically have to give up their votes, non starter because of that and rightly so too. Maybe they can come to a compromise where some of it gets implemented and clubs keep their votes but it's changed to an 11 vote majority instead of 14 as it currently is.
But without the big 6 wouldnt be the money in the game
and if a power grab is to give 25% of PL revenue to EFL then you really need to look up Powergrab in the dictonary
It is an attempt to gain control & make the rich richer. The 25% of collective revenue is to get the deal through but there is nothing to stop that figure being lowered at a vote later.
Also there will be less collective revenue as this deal allows clubs to sell games separately outside of the TV deal (this most likely will increase), also 4 less game weeks so less opportunities to broadcast.
Also by reducing the Premier league by 2 teams you are effectively kicking 2 teams out of the football league to make room for them as EFL wont have a 26 team league.
That's the key I think how much is the deal worth the EFL in seasons to come, at the moment it's great and would turn a list making league into a profitable one, we wouldn't see another Bury which would be great but it would need the pound figure in writing so they could run like that from now on and not get screwed over in the future,
Would also say the championship needs to drop teams as its far to many games at the moment for the level of football would also be better at 18 or 20, the easy way to do.it would be turn league 2 back into north and south push every down a few places , I bet the EFL would do it if the money was garenteed

I'm sure I herd on the radio somewhere that it was possible - or likely - that eventually the PL would end up being in a a position of power, and stop any EFL teams being automatically promoted into the PL or something.

I don't think this taking of the knee stuff would've lasted this long if fans were allowed in stadiums. The kick racism out campaign does the job as it is.
