Gove says England lock down "could be extended" - has he borrowwed the TARDIS & been time travelling and seen the future already?

^^ Doesn't take a genius to assume that an extension could be on the cards. Some experts have already said that 4 weeks will not be long enough to get enough control back.

I read today that in terms of entering lockdown we are later than in the spring when considering hospital admissions and daily deaths. I’d expect February before we should start relaxing controls but knowing Johnson he’ll do something stupid for Xmas.

I was referring to a scientific experts, sorry not quoting a name. I tend to take an interest in what they have to say, above any politicians. certainly wouldn't class any of us posting here as experts.

The original lockdown in March was only planned for a month , and we know what happened then.

The government has to try to take the majority of people with them in this 2nd lockdown. to maximize the compliance. Tell everyone that their in it until spring, & many would give up before they started. Boris is an optimist, Gove was obviously being more realistic.

Gove's had a slap from Boris over his statement that the lockdown could last longer than a month. But for once Gove is correct, we don't know the R rate at the end of the month.

It comes as there was nearly 82 thousand cases reported in France today and 454 deaths. That is 20 thousand cases more than the USA.
