This might explain why the ‘grown-ups’ in the Republican Party are indulging this electoral fraud fantasy. They need to keep the base angry and energised (and donating money), because control of the Senate still depends on the outcome of two run-off Senate elections in Georgia in January.

I guess the hope is that they’ll go into those elections with a tidy little war chest and an angry constituency who feel that the election was stolen from them.

It could also have the effect of energising the dems too.

Doubt it. He has a habit of not stumping up cash in the first place and just like tax, he doesn't pay his debts when they're due.
That billion plus he owes is due in the next two to four years, which is probably why he's clinging on as long as he can, he won't get out of those potential lawsuits easily. Deutsche Bank want to cut all ties with him asap, he owes them a decent chunk of change ($300M plus) and they will seize assets if he doesn't pay up. I doubt anyone would want to buy that debt now he's a loser.

Trump's presidency has always been about money for him, and power for republicans, not to ''Make America Great Again'', believing otherwise is foolish.

But a clean sweep in Georgia? The presidency AND two Senate seats?

That seems a little too good to be true.

My guess is that those two races will be ‘nationalised’, lots of money will be spent, lots of celebrities will turn out, the polls will suggest the race is nail-bitingly close ... and the Republicans will win both seats by 5 points.

In a more optimistic moment, I could imagine each party winning one seat, which would lead to the narrowest of Republican majorities.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It keeps the leftiest lefties in their box, but is close enough for Biden to get reasonable policies through. A moderate Republican — e.g. the next McCain or Flake — could be a kingmaker instead of a target in a 51-49 Senate.

Let's assume the dems win the Senate, or at least get 50/50 making Kamala Harris the vote to get shit passed, it won't be left wing, it will be centrist legislation at best. Don't know why people think that a basically moderate Republican in Biden as president along with Schumer and Pelosi still in charge of the dem establishment are gonna pass some left wing agenda, they detest the left wing base, even the centre left too. It'll be mostly the same policy agendas of the last 30 years.

The boss of Pfizer said they didn't want Government aid because it always comes with strings attached.

Sure this biontech that pfizer worked with for the vaccine was the one that he tried to bribe to come to the US from under the german goverment noses

What's the best case scenario for Biden then?
