Given the other players in the last 2 years who've finally stepped up (eg Allen, Trump, Robertson), he needed something like this to re-establish himself, so I'm glad in that. Well done to Maguire too, he showed he can still put it together.

Well, neither Ding nor Maguire really built on this, did they? Ding saying other Chinese players need to pull their fingers out, which is almost guaranteed to backfire and see him humbled in an early round, whilst one of them reaches the Semis.
